Welcome to Conscious Kids!
Founded by Neelam Kumari | OFSTED Registered Childminder | Oulton Broad, Lowestoft

Hello! My name is Neelam Kumari, and I’m the founder of Conscious Kids — a fun, nurturing, and innovative space where your child’s wellbeing and development come first.

With a background as a qualified teacher (PGCE & QTS), and experience working in both mainstream and SEN settings for over five years, I bring a unique blend of education, therapy, and science to early years childcare. I also hold qualifications as a child and adult therapist, mindset coach, and am Paediatric First Aid trained. Currently, I’m further expanding my practice by training to become a play therapist. My academic background also includes a BSc in Biomedical Science, allowing me to combine scientific insight with holistic, child-led learning.

Opening Hours: Wednesday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

What Makes Conscious Kids Special?
At Conscious Kids, we use the latest research in child development, education, and psychology to provide your child with the best start in life. Every aspect of our setting is designed with wellbeing and mental health in mind.

I live with two small, gentle dogs — Simba and Nala — who are part of our extended Conscious Kids family. Animal interaction is a wonderful way to help children build empathy and emotional intelligence, and all interactions are supervised, with regular, separate cosy spaces available for quiet time away from pets. Beyond my professional life, I'm an animal lover and nature enthusiast. I'm also a proud dog mum who believes in living with intention, whether it’s through a good book, exploring the outdoors, or staying active with a bit of fitness. At the heart of everything I do is a deep love for children, learning, and creating a kinder, more conscious world.

Our Space
Your child will experience a multi-sensory rich environment designed to inspire creativity, mindfulness, and exploration. The home nursery is a beautiful, adaptable space that include resources and toys to support all stages of development through:

- Mindfulness & sensory play
- Creative and imaginative play
- Wellbeing-centred activities
- A spacious, secure garden featuring a mud kitchen, trees to hide behind, scooters, a playhouse, and planting activities

Regular Outings & Experiences
We love to explore the world around us! Regular outings include:

- Nature walks & nature reserves
- Gymnastics classes
- Visits to the local library, play park, and nature play centres
- Intergenerational visits with the elderly in our community

Settling-In Process
Leaving your child somewhere new can be emotional — we understand. That’s why we’ve developed a bespoke settling-in process, tailored to meet the unique needs of each child and parent. Your emotional wellbeing is just as important to us as your child’s, and we work closely with you to ensure a smooth transition into our setting.

Private Rate: £8.50/hour
Funded placements accepted
