Tudor Tots Childcare
Childminder in Hook
My Summary
Qualified Teacher And Experienced Parent Offering Nurturing, Reliable Childcare
About Me
I’m a qualified teacher and mum to four children (aged 17, 15, 9 and 4). In 2026, after nearly 20 years of teaching, I made the move into childminding so I can focus on the heart of early years and offer a more personal, nurturing environment that truly reflects my values and passion for early childhood development.
At Tudor Tots Childcare, I provide a warm, home-from-home setting where childhood is cherished, curiosity is nurtured, and learning unfolds naturally through meaningful play and connection.
Influenced by the Curiosity Approach and the cosy, connected feeling of Hygge, I support children’s natural curiosity and their understanding of the world around them, both indoors and outdoors. I aim to provide an environment where every child feels valued, secure, and inspired, all of which helps them to grow in confidence and reach their full potential.
Children in my care are encouraged to lead their own learning through play, discovery, and connection with the world around them. I offer intentional, meaningful play opportunities using mostly natural and open-ended materials tailored to each child’s age, interests, and needs. Outdoor adventures are a regular part of our day, whether that’s spending time in our child-friendly garden, splashing in puddles, visiting a local park, or simply enjoying moments of wonder in the world around us.
My setting is designed to be as supportive to families as it is nurturing for children. Everything your child is likely to need during their day here is included in the fees, so if you wanted to drop them off with just the clothes and shoes they’re wearing, that’s absolutely fine. I’ll take care of the rest!
As a working parent myself, I understand how busy life can get and how the logistics of childcare can sometimes feel overwhelming. My aim is to make things as stress-free and straightforward as possible, so that when you collect your little one, you can focus on what really matters: being fully present for them.
Through my experience as both a teacher and a parent, I understand how important it is to build trust, maintain good communication, and truly get to know each child. While your child is with me, you can rest assured they’ll be cared for with the same care, attention, kindness, and respect I would want for my own children.
I’m committed to building strong, respectful partnerships with families and sharing each child’s journey with you, celebrating the joys, discoveries, and milestones every step of the way.
My Experience
I’ve always been drawn to working with children. From early roles at after-school and holiday clubs, through to my 19 years as a qualified primary school teacher, childcare has been a constant in my life. In total, I’ve spent over 25 years supporting children’s development and I’m lucky enough to be able to now do this in a more personal, home-based setting.
I’m particularly passionate about the early years and helping children grow through curiosity, play, and real connection. I believe that every child is unique and deserves care that reflects their individual needs, interests, and pace of learning.
Throughout my teaching career, I’ve specialised in the early years and Key Stage 1, where play-based learning and strong relationships are at the heart of good practice. My approach is heavily influenced by the Curiosity Approach, Hygge in the Early Years, and helping to foster a love of the outdoors — placing emotional wellbeing, creativity, and nature-based learning front and centre.
I hold all the relevant training and certifications required for childminding, including:
* Paediatric First Aid
* Safeguarding and Designated Lead Training
* Food Hygiene
* Enhanced DBS
I’m also currently working towards my Hygge in the Early Years accreditation and am committed to continuous professional development. I regularly engage in new training to ensure my knowledge stays current and reflects best practice. Currently I am undertaking the Early Years SENCO training.

We couldn't be happier with the care our daughter has received from Aimee. We're so sad to be leaving, but unfortunately we're relocating.
From the very beginning, Aimee created a warm, caring and welcoming environment, and our daughter has always been so happy to go to her. Aimee is calm, gentle and genuinely cares about the children she looks after.
Her background as a teacher really shines through in the activities she plans. They're always fun and engaging, but also thoughtfully put together to support the children's learning and development. Since being with Aimee, we've seen our daughter grow in confidence and independence, and her speech has come on so much too.
Communication has always been great. We love reading the daily diary updates and seeing photos of all the things the children have been getting up to throughout the day.
We're incredibly grateful for everything Aimee has done for our daughter and the positive impact she's had on her early years. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to other families looking for a childminder.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Aimee. From the very beginning, she made both us and our girls feel completely at ease. It’s clear how much she genuinely cares for every child in her care, and the loving, welcoming environment she creates is truly special.
Aimee always plans a variety of fun, engaging activities and adventures, helping the children learn, grow, and gain confidence while having an amazing time. The girls come home full of stories about their day and are constantly learning new things.
One of the things we love most is receiving the daily diary updates and lots of photos. It’s so reassuring to see what the girls have been up to and how much fun they’re having.
Our girls absolutely adore Aimee and her children, and they’ve also built wonderful friendships with the other children she looks after. They are always excited to go in the morning and often run straight through the door without even looking back! When we collect them, they regularly ask when they can come back again, which says everything about how happy they are there.
We never have to worry when our girls are with Aimee. We know they are safe, happy, well cared for, and having the best day possible. The love, patience, and dedication Aimee shows every day are evident in how much the children thrive in her care. We couldn't recommend Aimee highly enough and are so grateful to have her as such an important part of our girls' lives.

I was searching for a long time trying to find the right person/setting for our twin boys and I knew instantly that Tudor Tots was that place!
My boys feel happy and comfortable with Aimee, and they have definitely had a huge development leap since starting. We always receive lovely photographs and a thorough outline of their day. Aimee is approachable and really happy to support in any way she can. It is also wonderful knowing we can drop the boys off and not have to stress if we have forgotten anything as she has it all ready to go - puddle suits, wellies, sunhats, spare clothes to name a few! We would 100% recommend her.
