About Me
I am currently an English literature student at the University of Aberdeen. I love music and was in my university's show choir as social secretary last year, in addition to being a part of my university's female a cappella group, where we came 3rd in Scotland. I am passionate about working with young people and hope to be an English teacher in the future. I love the outdoors and being active, from hiking to kayaking to my boxing sessions. I also love being creative. I was awarded Commended for the Young Writer of Scotland in 2023, in addition to Young Storyteller of Wales 2017.
My Experience
This summer I worked at a summer camp for people with physical disabilities I was responsible for feeding, dressing, changing and toileting campers. In addition to helping them engage with different programmes from arts and crafts, kayaking, archery to wheelchair basketball and zumba. I have also volunteered within my home community, helping the younger age groups in my girls brigade, helping run craft and creative workshops and also assisting English classes within the younger years of my high school and being a peer support buddy to a student with additional support needs to help adjust to the transition from primary to high school.
My Qualifications
In order to have been able to work abroad at my summer camp I aqcuired an international police check which verified that I was able to work with children.
My Availability
Due to being a student, my availability would be based on my timetable. Unfortunately, I won't receive this timetable until after September 5th; however, I usually have evenings, most mornings and afternoons off, and I am more than willing to find something that works for everyone!
