My Experience

My experience began in a nursery setting, whe Working with children aged 0–10 has been a deeply rewarding and enriching journey, one that has shaped both my professional development and personal values. I have dedicated myself to supporting children's early growth and learning through a variety of roles, including nursery assistant, primary school support staff, scouting leader, forest school educator, and childminder. Each role has offered unique insights into the diverse ways children develop, learn, and connect with the world around them. re I gained a solid foundation in early years development. Supporting babies and toddlers during their formative years gave me a profound appreciation for the importance of nurturing care, sensory play, and secure attachments. As I progressed to working in primary schools, I further developed my skills in supporting academic learning, fostering emotional wellbeing, and encouraging social development. I have worked closely with teaching staff to create inclusive and engaging learning environments that allow children to thrive at their own pace.
In addition to my school-based work, I have taken on leadership roles outside the classroom. As a scouting leader, I have guided children through team-building activities, outdoor learning, and life skills that build resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of community. This naturally led to my role as a forest school educator, where I have been able to champion child-led learning in natural environments. I firmly believe in the value of outdoor exploration for physical health, creativity, and emotional regulation.
