My Summary
Bluebells Childminding Mansfield
About Me
Bluebells Childminding (soon to be in April 2026) offering home from home care. Children will be welcomed into my lovely family home, they will have a purpose built playroom, and a secure garden to explore. My near future view for Bluebells is to build strong links with our local care homes, and to eventually own our own allotment; for digging, planting and of course mud kitchen role play! I also attend our local library singing and reading groups, and we will go to lots of baby and toddler groups in our local & surrounding area.
My teaching curriculum will be based around your individual child, I will work on their needs and interests; what ever it may be that week!
The children won’t know they’re learning they’ll just think they’re having fun. I won’t be operating on a strict routine, we will let our days flow, I am big on the curiosity approach, in which i’ll provide everyday resources and lots of natural objects for the children to play with and explore, this will help build your child creative & imaginative skills. I’ll also promote self-regulation through counting, deep breaths, yoga, and talking techniques to help your little ones understand and control their big emotions.
I passed my OFSTED pre-registration visit on the 6th March 2026, so I’m just waiting on my certificate for my registration number.
I am based in ladybrook Mansfield Nottinghamshire NG18 in a large detached gated property, with CCTV, I’ll be offering viewings from the end of January, and I’ll be offering funded places from 9 months to 3years of age.
My Experience
I’ve worked in childcare settings since leaving school and starting my level 3 Diploma in Childcare straight away at college; undergoing lots of placements including working in a hospital on a surgical and medical ward. I then went straight to a Uni campus to complete my level 4 and 5 in Children and Young People’s Services. After that I joined an agency for a short period of time, gaining experience in a pupil referral unit and a specialist school for Autism. I then went onto work in a private day nursery looking after babies and pre-school children. I did all of the above whilst working my way up from a waitress at 16 years of age to a Managing position in a A La Carte restaurant for 10 years.
Then the last 13 years have been spent mainly being a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in a Primary school across the Foundation Stage. I covered the Teachers’ so they could have their planning time, in which I would follow a very full timetable - in which I taught all the areas of learning. During my time here I also went to evening classes at Derby university to complete my Ba Hons Degree Level 6 in Early Childhood studies. After completing this I became part-time Reception class Teacher alongside a qualified Teacher to help cover a maternity post, giving me lots of valuable Teacher experience. So i’m confident i’ll be able to support your child to be school ready, and I have lots of experience to be able to identify any areas your child needs early intervention in.
I have absolutely loved my time in a school, but I am just ready for a new challenge, and I’m excited to follow my own curriculum that is led by myself & inspired by my children. Childminding gives me the added freedom of being able to get out and explore our local environment. Childminders have the luxury of smaller numbers of children so they can deliver more high quality teaching.
I have done paediatric first aid every 3 years since leaving school, and Safeguarding training yearly, and of course lots of in-house training including Makaton, Read write Ink phonics training, Autism training etc
