My Requirements

1. Scheduling & Consistency
The primary need is reliable coverage to support both parents' professional commitments.
• Core Hours: We require consistent childcare hours (e.g., 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 3-5 days per week) to cover the full-time parent's work schedule and the job-seeking parent's dedicated search/interview time.
• Need for Flexibility: Due to the active job search, we may need some flexibility for last-minute interview coverage or occasional extended hours (which we would request and confirm in advance).
• Goal: To establish a stable routine for our son despite the transitional nature of our household schedule.
2. Developmental & Nurturing Care
Care for a 16-month-old requires active engagement and attention to foundational skills.
• Age-Appropriate Activities: Must provide stimulating activities for a young toddler, focusing on:
• Gross Motor Skills: Opportunities for walking, running, and safe physical exploration (e.g., park visits, playground time).
• Fine Motor Skills: Simple stacking, puzzles, and sensory play.
• Language: Reading books, singing, and encouraging early word development.
• Routine Management: Adherence to (or help establishing) a consistent daily schedule for:
• Naps: Likely one long nap or two shorter naps per day.
• Meals/Snacks: Preparation and serving of nutritious toddler-friendly meals.
• Diapering/Hygiene.
• Emotional Support: A warm, patient, and engaging caregiver who will provide a safe and nurturing environment.
3. Communication & Partnership
Clear communication is vital while one parent is managing the job search.
• Daily Updates: We require regular updates on mood, meals, naps, and activities.
• Partnership: We seek a caregiver who will work with us on developmental goals (e.g., gentle behavioral guidance, transitioning to a single nap, etc.).
