About Me

I am a creative First time Mom to a very advanced 11 month old baby girl Adanna with lots of energy. I recently graduated from university, I am a graphic designer and I am now in the process of thinking about jumping back into building my career. I personally had a childminder and had the greatest experience with her and would love for my child to have the same. I have a very energetic, curious and determined 11 month old that is very advanced for her age and seems to want all of my attention. My partner works at least 50 hours a week & 10 hours a day, which means most of the childcare is left to me in the daytime currently and we also have very close relationships with my sisters (aunties) and my mum (nanny) who help me out with childcare.

My Requirements

Registered Childminder
Babysitter
Nursery

I’m looking for somebody who will implement structure as well as more Montessori style as I have implemented it myself and seen how it benefits a child like my own (more on the independent and very determined side) . I would prefer no screens very limited screens and at least some sort of learning and activities such as reading, imaginative, sensory, outdoor play, open-ended play or creative projects.

Culture is very important to us so if by chance we find a childminder, who is the same culture as us (Jamaican and Nigerian (Igbo) we would love for that to be implemented in someway whether it be through language, food & teaching etc.

In our household, we also use some baby sign which our daughter will communicate to us. As well as use of the potty which we have been doing from around 4 months old and our daughter will also alert us to when she needs the potty (planning to fully potty train once walking). We would love for these to be continued in your care.

When it comes to food we are a household that eats mostly home cooked, whole foods and prefer to not rely too much on overly processed foods and snacks that are high in sugar and salt.

Lastly as for behaviour and discipline we use a respectful, positive and authoritative approach. For example redirecting undesired behaviours like hitting, throwing etc with the correct behaviour or play. If she spills something showing her or her helping clean it up as the consequence (open to advice on this as she grows into a toddler and has more tantrums etc) but completely against hitting child.
