My Summary
About Me
As a person who thrives off of a sense of purpose, working with children is the ultimate experience of purpose for me.
I have felt a strong duty of care for children ever since my youngest sister was born when I was a teenager. I experienced an unconditional love that I can only imagine is how it feels to be a parent.
I find that this unconditional love extends to all children and drives me to provide enriching and nurturing experiences for children in their parent’s absence.
I’ve now lived in Brighton for 9 years. My hobbies are filmmaking, painting, sewing and sea-swimming. I am an LGBT ally, and have kind-natured friends of all ages and backgrounds. I’ve worked in Fashion, Higher Education, and the Mental Health Sector. I am training to become an Integrative Counsellor.
My Experience
When I was 14 years old, my baby sister was born. I insisted that my mum teach me everything there was to know about how to raise a baby. Whilst studying my Psychology A-level, I was observing in real life, the developmental stages of a child, which was fascinating to me.
Being highly involved with the school run, sports days, and visiting my sister in her classroom, I was well-known to my sister’s friends and their parents and guardians. I began gaining plenty of experience babysitting for other families this way.
After my A-levels, I used my confidence in my ability to supervise children, to work at an after-school club and holiday club, as well as become a children’s craft volunteer in the community.
Having babysat for families in Brighton for years, I decided to take it more seriously as a career. I’ve been working as a professional after school Nanny for the same family, for over two years now, and I absolutely love my work.
I am also an assistant at Sparks Film School in Hove, teaching filmmaking to children ages 9-11. I would like to meet more families to whom I can offer my Nannying and Babysitting services.
My Qualifications
GCSE, A-levels, Art and Design Diploma, University of Life.
