About Me

Hi there!
My name is Melissa and I am an Ofsted registered childminder and have been working with children and families for the last 16 years. I truly love supporting children in their learning and development. I have worked with children from birth to 16 years, however birth to 5 is my favourite age group as watching children learn and develop is truly magical in this age group.

I am the proud Mum of 5 wonderful children and have two well behaved dogs (they are sprocker spaniels). Four of my children are school age and my youngest daughter is 2 years old, so she would also be joining in the daily fun.

My practice is underpinned by the Early Years Foundation stage and I spend a great deal of time keeping up to date with current practice and research within early years. I am registered with Coram Pacey, so have access to updates in policy and practice and other courses to ensure I am offering the best possible opportunities and care to the children in my care.

I believe that supporting children in developing the primary areas of development (social and emotional development, communication and language and physical development) is the most essential part of early development, as the skills they develop underpin all future learning. Therefore, I place a great deal of focus on socialising, whether that is with other child minders or at groups and also being physically active. I love spending time outdoors in the fresh air and having lots of fun and am very active myself outside of work. Whether that's at parks or in my secure garden your little one will definitely spend time each day outside.

I offer home from home care, which is child lead, meaning the activities, your child will engage him will be based on their own interests (because children learn best when they are interested and fully engaged).
