My Summary
About Me
Hi, I’m Shahenaz! I was born and raised in Mumbai and later spent many years in Hyderabad, growing up in a warm, caring family with my sister and brother. I completed my bachelor’s degree and am now in the UK pursuing my Master of Research.
I’m a mum of two lovely children — my son (11) and my daughter (5). Being a mother has taught me so much about patience, love, routines, and the little things that truly matter in a child’s day. I’ve also helped look after my siblings’ children over the years and volunteered as a teacher, which really strengthened my passion for working with kids.
I believe early childhood is the most important stage, where love, safety, and playful learning make a huge difference. I enjoy singing rhymes, reading stories, creating fun indoor activities, and spending time outdoors helping children explore and learn.
Before moving to the UK, I spent over 10 years working in professional roles and managing my own small business. As I’m currently studying part-time, I’m looking for a nanny role that allows me to care for children — something I genuinely love and feel naturally connected to.
I aim to bring warmth, trust, and joy into every home I work with.
My Experience
Most of my childcare experience comes from raising my own two children, who are now 11 and 5. Being a mother has given me practical, everyday understanding of routines, emotions, learning needs, and the small comforts that help children feel secure and happy. I have managed everything from feeding, bathing, bedtime routines, school work, and playtime to emotional support and healthy habits.
During COVID, when children were indoors for long periods, I made a special effort to keep my kids engaged in hands-on, creative activities. This helped them avoid excess screen time while encouraging learning through play, imagination, and practical experiences. It taught me how important it is to keep children meaningfully occupied, even in challenging situations.
Alongside caring for my own kids, I’ve also helped look after my siblings’ children, giving me experience with infants, toddlers, and older children.
I have volunteered as a teacher as well, using stories, rhymes, and simple activities to support children’s early learning. I also completed volunteer teacher training, which deepened my understanding of early childhood development and the value of gentle, consistent care.
Together, these experiences have shaped me into a patient, creative, and nurturing childcarer.
