About Me
Every single student I have had the pleasure of tutoring has achieved at least a two-grade increase within 6 months.
Having suffered with undiagnosed learning difficulties until the age of 17, school was a huge struggle. However, relearning how ti learn, gave me a real insight into teaching methods and the flaws in our education system.
With these skills, I went from being predicted an E in A-Level Geography to getting 100% in the final exams, before going on to get a sponsored degree at University of Leeds (BSc (Ind.) Biology) and working for the UK military for 4 years.
I have over 7 years of tutoring experience and genuinely enjoy the challenge of understanding the tutee's mindset and how best to tailor information to suit their brain, and teaching with an emphasis on exam technique.
I also have significant experience in helping with personal statements.
My Experience
I worked as a private tutor from 2017 until 2024, having been away travelling the past year, I am now returning to it.
I specialise in GCSE science, A-Level Biology and Geogrpahy, with emphasis on exam technique, and writing personal statements.
With lessons learnt from my own learning difficulties, I have worked to create teaching formats that compliment those who may also have learning difficulties, but also for anyone; to creating strategies for memorising information efficiently, and appropriately for what the examiners are looking for.
I have spent countless hours working out what examiners want to see and how they want to see it, allowing students to gain every mark possible.
I am a tutor that gives what I receive. I am no magical wand, but if you give me 100% I will give you 150% and every tool possible to succeed.
I'm convinced no one is less intelligent, just maybe less academic, but you only have to be academic in school. It's not a measure of your intelligence and chances of future success, so regardless of it I become your tutor, never let it define you.
My Qualifications
14 GCSEs A*-C (9-5)
3 A-Levels A*-B (Geography, History and Biology)
Sponsored BSc Hons (Industrial) Biology (University of Leeds) 1st class.
7 years experience with every student achieving a minimum of a 2 grade increase within 6 months.

My Availability
I am available all weekdays and can discuss weekends too.
These years at school are tough; balancing school, work, a social life and finding time to rest. So, I try to be as flexible as possible, while keeping routine and fairness to both sides for other commitments.

My fees reflect my experience, knowledge, resources and track record.
However, if you work for the NHS please contact me about my rates.
Rates are for an hour session in person, my travel and preparation time. The first session is discounted.
