My Experience

I am a childminder with lived experience of supporting children within a neurodiverse home environment. As a parent of four young children aged between one and six, I have developed a strong understanding of differing developmental needs, communication styles, and sensory differences that can impact children’s daily experiences.

My personal journey has involved working closely with SEND schools, attending multi-professional meetings, and navigating assessment and support processes. This has strengthened my knowledge of inclusive practice, individualised learning approaches, and the importance of collaborative partnerships between families and professionals.

I also have experience supporting a child in mainstream education with one-to-one assistance, giving me insight into inclusive classroom strategies, behaviour regulation support, and adapting learning to meet individual needs while promoting independence and social inclusion.

Through both my professional and lived experience, I provide a nurturing, flexible, and responsive environment where every child feels understood, valued, and supported to thrive. I am committed to inclusive childcare practice, recognising each child’s strengths while adapting routines and activities to meet their unique developmental and emotional needs.

My Qualifications

I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare, and I am currently in my second year of a BA (Hons) Childcare degree, which I attend at university one day a week (Tuesdays).
