My Experience

I have spent many years working as a heathcare professional caring for both children and adults also with learning disabilities in a variety of healthcare settings. This experience has given me a strong foundation in health, child development, safety, emotional and mental wellbeing — skills that I bring into my childcare every single day.

Working in healthcare taught me how to adapt to each person’s individual needs, to listen carefully, and to provide care that is compassionate, patient and respectful. I’ve supported families through many different stages of life, and I understand how important it is to build trusting, open relationships with parents and children alike.

I wanted to use my professional knowledge and my love for working with children to create a nurturing, homely environment where little ones can grow, play, and learn.

I have experience working with children who have autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and other additional needs. I’m passionate about inclusion and believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive in their own way. I make sure activities are adapted to suit each child’s individual interests and abilities, and I celebrate every milestone — big or small!

As a mum, I’ve also gained a wealth of hands-on experience. I know that every child is unique, and that family life is full of different routines, personalities, and challenges. Being both a parent and a professional has helped me understand how to create a balance of structure, fun, and flexibility in my care.

I’m proud to promote diversity and equality in everything I do. My home is welcoming to all families, and I ensure that every child feels valued and respected. I am also breastfeeding-friendly and happy to support parents with whatever choices best suit their family’s needs.

Every experience I’ve had — both as a nurse and as a mum — has shaped me into the caring, understanding childminder I am today.
