My Requirements
My wife and I are starting to look ahead for childcare options for our baby, who is due in March 2026. We’re hoping to arrange a place from around January 2027, when our baby will be about 10 months old.
We’re ideally looking for a term-time, weekday arrangement, where my wife would drop off at 7:45 am and I would collect at 3:15 pm — roughly 7.5 hours per day (37.5 hours per week).Monday - Friday
We’re hoping to find a childminder who:
Charges on an hourly basis rather than full-day rates (as we wouldn’t need care past 3:15 pm) approximately
Accepts the government-funded 30 hours once our child becomes eligible
Has potential availability from January 2027
We’re based in Leyland, so we’re mainly looking for local settings.
I completely understand it’s quite early to plan ahead, but we’re just starting to make enquiries so we can understand how things work and what might suit us best.
