At Ariabella Childcare we have daily enrichment outings across the year exploring; farms, attractions, woodlands, soft play centres, theatres, aquariums, national trust sites, playgroups, museums, parks and theatres; to broaden children's understanding of the world around them.
Children are specifically taught communication, language, early reading, and mathematics every day, and our weekly curriculum delivers the following sessions: learning about and in nature, music class, modelled imaginative play, art and craft lessons, taught dance, exploring new items and toys (which are put each week into the play space), and social skills through puppets. Out children have a minimum of 3 stories per day (always using props), and a weekly sensory experience. They also have messy play and cooking activities throughout the year.
Each input is short and focused enabling lots of time for self directed learning through play.
Physical development is pivotal and prioritised here to develop and support: strength, health, brain development, fine and gross motor skills, social and emotional wellbeing, as well as independence.
We are inclusive and respectful celebrating all faiths, and cultures. Our learning curriculum is built upon a wide range of cultural events throughout the year, exploring many different festivals through stories, arts, crafts, dance, food and traditions.
We also have a delicious, nutritious, and well balanced menu following recipes from the award winning children's chef Annabel Karmel.
My Experience
During my time in an outstanding school, I oversaw our SMSC (spiritual moral, social, cultural) provision and the school was awarded the highest accredited SMSC award in the country.
I have also overseen the training of many new teachers and have delivered lectures to them and headteachers in my area of expertise.
Some years ago I trained to be a Carmelite nun, living in a contemplative order dedicated to silence, prayer, and deep listening. Those quiet years gave me space to reflect on what children need to become all that their creator made them to be. The care I offer today - listening, extending, exploring, awing, and celebrating; provides lots of freedom within structured routine - my pedagogy was born out of my time in contemplation.
I also have a degree in the arts hence much of the curriculum being rooted in drama, dance, music, arts and crafts.

My Availability
We are open 7.30 am until 5.30 pm Monday - Friday. We are able to meet with parents and carers (interested in securing a place for their child) on Saturday or Sunday.
