About Me

Hello, my name is Scarlett Powell and I am a passionate and dedicated childcare professional with a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care. My interest in early years education and childcare began during my Health and social care Level 2 ( NVQ level 2 ) studies in secondary school, which opened my eyes to the importance of supporting children’s development from a young age. I have since gained nearly two years of hands-on experience working in a nursery, where I developed strong skills in providing nurturing care, creating engaging learning environments, and building positive, trusting relationships with children and families. I am enthusiastic, reliable, and genuinely committed to supporting children’s wellbeing, growth, and happiness in every setting.

My Experience

While working in the day nursery, I was assigned to the baby and toddler room where the children’s age ranged from 3 months - 2 years. My daily duties involved welcoming children in to the nursery and providing attentive and nurturing care; getting involved and stuck in with the children’s play, singing nursery rhymes, reading books, initiating imaginative play, running and climbing in the garden and going on trips outside the nursery. Each day I would set up a variety of age appropriate and exciting activities to help promote their learning and development. At nap times, depending on the child’s needs, I would feed bottles and pat or rock the children to sleep. I would prepare healthy and balanced snacks for the children as well as encourage healthy eating habits.
I am assigned key children which involved having one to one interaction with them though stimulating play, writing observations on the child based on the 7 key areas of learning, and having clear and constant communication with the parents to keep them updated on how their child is doing. I really enjoyed this role and being able to create strong and long lasting bonds with the children, helping them to grow and become confident and kind individuals.

My Qualifications

At The Misbourne School I studied 9 GCSE’s. These include English, Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, History, French, Health and Social care and Enterprise and Marketing. I passed all of these subjects (certificates are available if needed)

Once I left school, I did an online college course in health and social care level 3 (QLS level 3) which I thoroughly enjoyed. In this course I learnt more about effective communication, person centred care and the importance of safeguarding in a variety of care settings. I completed this course and achieved the highest grade possible, a distinction (certificate available if needed)

I Also have a complete DBS check that can be provided if needed.

My Availability

I am a part time live out nanny, and I am available for 2 and half to 3 full days a week depending on what is needed.
