About Me
Hi! We’re a small, easy-going family newly arrived in the Stafford area and we’re looking for a kind, emotionally attuned nanny for our daughter, Lyra (2.5yrs old). My husband works 3 days a week in downtown Birmingham, and I'm a writer / stay-at-home mom looking to find some part-time support to give me a break to work / housekeep / etc.
Our schedule is very flexible and we're happy to adjust as necessary to make the right fit work!
My Requirements
About Lyra
Lyra is:
• Very verbal, curious, and aware of her surroundings – she talks in full sentences, asks lots of questions, and loves stories and imaginative play
• Sensory-sensitive and deeply feeling – she can get overwhelmed by noise, crowds, or transitions, but recovers quickly when she feels safe and understood
• Playful and imaginative – into books, animals, Bluey, pretend games, music, and exploring outside
• Social on her own terms – she warms up easily with adults who are gentle, grounded, and silly
She does best with caregivers who:
• Narrate what’s happening and give her time to process
• Offer choices and collaborate
• Stay calm and kind during big feelings
What We’re Looking For
Non-negotiables:
• Experience with toddlers (either as a nanny, educator, or similar role)
• Emotionally mature, reliable, and genuinely kind
• Comfortable holding boundaries without power struggles
• Enjoys playing outside, going for walks, and doing simple crafts / reading
• DBS check (or willing to obtain) and at least one solid reference
Nice-to-haves (but not dealbreakers):
• Familiarity with sensory needs / neurodivergent kids or interest in learning
• Comfortable with gentle structure: snacks, walks, calm rhythms
Schedule & Practical Details
• Location: Stafford area (happy to share exact area via DM)
• Hours: Part-time, 15-20hrs a week-ish over 2–3 days per week in the daytime (exact days/times are VERY flexible and open to discussion)
• Start date: Soon-ish, but we’re more interested in the right fit than rushing
• Pay: Competitive and fair for experience; happy to discuss your usual rate
How to Get in Touch
If this sounds like a good fit, please send a message with:
• A short intro about you and your experience with toddlers
• Your general availability (days/times)
• Your hourly rate
• Any relevant qualifications (DBS, first aid, childcare training, etc.)
We’re happy to meet for a chat first (without Lyra) and then do a short trial session with her if it feels mutually good. Looking forward to hearing from you, thank you so much for your time :)
