Housekeeping And Nanny Role
About Me
We're a kind and light-hearted family who live in Curbridge with 2 girls of school age. Both girls have pretty full afterschool schedules but there's still plenty of time for fun. I work mostly from home but have my own office space so I'm not in the way. My Husband is generally based all over the country so we're polar opposites in that regard. We've always had a great relationship with our Nannys/Housekeepers, all of which we still consider part of the family now. We’re keen to find that once more.
My Requirements
The role is very much a 50:50 split of childcare duties and housekeeping. It wouldn't suit someone who wants a Nanny only role because the girls are in school.
The hours are different Term time to School Holiday time:
- During Term time we require 37 hours a week which essentially equates to Monday-Thursday morning and afternoon school runs with housekeeping hours in between. Plus a full day on a Friday.
- During School Holidays we require 40 hours a week to give us Monday - Friday full time cover.
We can be a bit flexible on the hours so don't rule us out if you think the role is broadly otherwise for you. Shout and we can discuss it.
Childcare duties are fairly self-explanatory in that we need someone to prompt our youngest to get ready for school, teeth, hair, breakfast and then take her to school. School PM pick up, followed by afterschool club or the park/fun at home. Dinner, bath and PJs. Shopping and meal planning fits in here as well. There are a few nights a year where my Husbands schedule and my schedule might clash, so the option for someone to be able to stay over would be ideal but not compulsory. We have previous Nannys who would jump at the chance to have the girls for us, so it's not a showstopper.
Housekeeping duties is a bit more full on. The role is to take on the running of the house. Everything from feeding the Cats, Washing, Ironing, Hoover, Mop and Bathrooms. It needs someone with attention to detail and who likes a clean organised home. Think Mrs Hinch but with Stacey Solomons organisation skills. Someone who's willing to keep on top of those junk piles that collect on the sideboard, know what the Girls have on at school each day and knows what the attachments on the hoover are for. With 3 girls in the house and a Husband who wears shirts everyday, it needs someone who's happy to pop the TV on and get the mountains of ironing done.
Lastly, How you fit in with the family and your willingness to get stuck in is much more important to me than the qualifications you have so if you have the right mindset but lack formal childcare qualifications, then this will suit you just as well as it will suit someone who's got lots of experience but is looking for a new challenge. A car or driving license is a must. This role wouldn't suit someone who has to bring their own child unfortunately.
