Part Time Nanny Job In London

About Me

We have two boys. Our eldest, aged 7, attends Kilmorie school (Y3) and loves animals, imaginary play, board games, his baby brother, all things Pokémon and listening to the K Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack. Our youngest was born in July 2025, so will be 1 when the role starts and currently loves cuddles and milk!

My husband and I both work full time in demanding jobs. I travel into the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. My husband travels into the office or has meetings in London on Tuesdays and Thursdays and works at home on Wednesdays. Because of our jobs, we are looking for a nanny who will be able to help take more of the load than a full time nursery place would be able to do. When not working we love good food, fun times with friends and have a passion for travel.

Our parenting style is compassionate but sturdy leadership (well, that’s what we attempt) and we are big fans of Dr Becky’s Good Inside philosophy.

My Requirements

Live Out Nanny
Part Time Nanny

We are looking for a fun, energetic and loving nanny to join our family 3 days a week from August/September 2026.

Hours:
Tuesday and Thursday 7.15am - 6.30pm
Wednesday 8.30am - 5.30pm

We would look to mutually agree on 5 weeks of holiday across the year - 2 of these would be in the summer holidays and 1 at Christmas. All 5 would be within the school holidays.

Role and responsibilities (all the advice I have been given on hiring the right nanny has highlighted the importance of being specific about what we are looking for - so we’ve gone detailed and specific here!):
- Getting both boys dressed and fed at the start of the day on Tuesday and Thursday. We usually try to make breakfast a healthy meal with fruit and veg and protein (smoked salmon, egg tortilla or cashew nuts, for example).
- Preparing our eldest a packed lunch.
- Taking our eldest
to school. Kilmorie is a 10 minute walk away and the school day starts at 08.55.
- Taking care of our youngest for the full day, introducing developmental activities and ensuring some social interaction through baby classes/groups.
- Maintaining (and if needed enhancing) our youngest’s daytime sleep schedule.
- Cooking and preparing food for lunch and tea.
- Batch cooking for the family freezer (providing approx. one additional family meal each week).
- Unstacking the dishwasher daily and occasionally putting away an online grocery delivery or doing a small food shop.
- Doing a weekly clothes wash for the boys (wash, tumble dry and putting away).
- Changing the boys’ bed sheets every other week (including washing, drying and putting away).
- Help with ad-hoc sorting - eg sorting and packing away clothes that are too small or toys that aren’t used anymore.
- Collecting our eldest from school or an after school club. School finishes at 3.30 with after school clubs finishing at 4.30.
- Ensuring our eldest completes any home learning. He currently has a list of spellings to learn each week, along with one Maths and one English worksheet.
- Giving the boys their tea.
- Keeping the house tidy and clearing up after the day’s activities (we do expect our eldest to help clear his plate etc and clear up after games but he tends to need a reminder - we would want our youngest to learn to help around the house too).
- Giving our youngest a bath and getting him ready for bed on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Providing a summary report via text on both boys’ food intake, mood and behaviour, our youngest’s sleep, our eldest’s home learning and anything else deemed useful.
- During school holidays our eldest often attends holiday clubs. Drop off times range between 9 and 10.30, with pick ups ranging between 3 and 5. Some venues may require driving to drop off or pick up.
- There may be some days during the school holidays that would require taking care of both boys for the full day. We wouldn’t anticipate these being more than once a week on average.

We are looking for someone who can thread connection, fun and joy throughout their time with our children, instilling kindness and building confidence on a daily basis.

We are also pro-vaccines and would like to work with a Nanny who shares these views and whose own family would be fully vaccinated.
