I am a 35 year old childminder and proud mum to a three-year-old daughter, which gives me both professional understanding and real-life experience of caring for young children.
I am passionate about supporting children’s emotional, social, and developmental needs during their early years. I encourage learning through imaginative play, nature exploration, and creative activities, helping children build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.
We live in a beautiful rural setting surrounded by wildlife and open space, giving children wonderful opportunities to explore the outdoors and connect with nature.
My approach to childcare is child-centred and developmentally informed. I focus on creating a calm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported. Through play, gentle routines, and positive relationships, I help children grow in confidence and independence at their own pace. As both a parent and a psychology student, I place great importance on empathy, communication, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring every child in my care feels happy, secure, and able to flourish.
My Experience
I am currently in my second year of a Bachelor’s (Hons) degree in Psychology and Counselling, studying part-time via remote learning. Throughout my studies, I have gained knowledge across a wide range of psychological approaches, including social, biological, humanistic, and developmental. This has given me a strong understanding of how children grow, learn, form relationships, and interact with the world around them.
My studies have also covered key areas such as child development, attachment, relationships, and social influences, which directly inform my approach to childcare. I use this knowledge to support children’s emotional wellbeing, confidence, and individual developmental needs in a caring and age-appropriate way. I have completed training modules focused on child development by age and the benefits of outdoor play, recognising the importance of physical activity, exploration, and nature in supporting children’s learning, wellbeing, and overall development.
Prior to registering as a childminder I am a highly experienced and dedicated Nanny/Housekeeper with over 15+ years of experience supporting multiple high profile and professional families in private households. Skilled in providing exceptional childcare, maintaining organised and well-run homes, and managing busy day-to-day family schedules with professionalism and discretion. Experienced in caring for children of varying ages from 3-15, house sitting, coordinating errands, preparing routines, and ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured environment at all times. Trusted for reliability, confidentiality, multitasking abilities, and delivering a high standard of household and childcare support.
I am awaiting Ofsted registration and hoping this will be completed by the Summer term. I am fully compliant with all required standards and regulations.
