My Experience

In 2001 I gained a PGCE in Art & Design and in the same year went on to teach Art and Design & Technology for 12 years in mainstream Secondary Schools. During all of my teaching years I was an enthusiastic Form Tutor and always enjoyed the pastoral element of education.
By 2013 I had two young children of my own, I made the decision to take a step back from my career and be a stay at home mom. This experience was wonderful. During this time I volunteered at playgroups which I took my children to and the local Scout group my son attended.
In 2017 I returned to the workplace as a Teaching Assistant at a generic primary school for pupils aged 2-11 years with special educational needs. It is a happy, positive, supportive environment where all children are valued and encouraged to be proud of themselves, this is an ethos I support. I am there to the present date. I have worked in all classes supporting pupils with MLD, ASD and SEMH. It has been an incredible experience and I have gained many skills and a wealth of knowledge.
My own children are now older teenagers and I feel it is my time to embrace new challenges and experiences.

I have a level of flexibility based on the needs of the family. My preferences are listed but I maybe able to adapt if required.
