About Me
Afterschool Nanny SEN | Stoke Newington | 3 days per week | £21ph
We are a warm, supportive family with two energetic and thoughtful boys. Kindness, communication, and consistency are central to our family life, and we place great importance on creating a home where our children feel safe, understood, and able to thrive.
Our two boys are autistic, and one also has ADHD. Our eldest is curious and funny, with a strong interest in football and playing on his Nintendo Switch. Our youngest is a passionate dinosaur enthusiast who loves playing with, reading about, and watching shows about dinosaurs. Both boys do best with clear routines, gentle but confident guidance, and caregivers who are patient, observant, and attuned to their needs. After school, they may need support with transitions, emotional regulation, and focus. A playful and slightly silly approach can be very effective in helping them re-engage when needed.
We live in a pet-free home in Clapton/Stoke Newington, Hackney. Our home offers plenty of space for the children to have downtime after school, including access to outdoor space. We are a seven-minute walk from the school for pick-ups.
We value open communication and see our nanny as an important part of our care team. We provide clear guidance, welcome feedback, and are committed to building a respectful, supportive, and long-term working relationship.

My Requirements
We are looking for a nanny to provide after-school care from approximately 3:00/3:30pm to 6:30/7:00pm. Afternoons typically include school pick-up, a snack and decompression period, homework support for our eldest when needed, and then either outdoor play, a structured activity, or screen time while dinner is being prepared. Calm transitions and predictable routines are especially important for our boys.
We are seeking someone who is confident and firm enough to manage two young boys who often have a lot of energy after school, while also being kind, dependable, and playful. Consistency and teamwork are very important to us; this collaborative approach has worked extremely well between home and school and has contributed to a positive and successful experience for both children.
We are looking for a nanny who is patient and comfortable supporting neurodivergent children. Experience with autism and/or ADHD is welcomed, but empathy, consistency, and a genuine willingness to understand our children as individuals are what matter most to us.
