Hello,
My name is Sarah, I’m 44 married and have 5 children. 22, 21, 19, 17 and 7. I have always worked within childcare from finishing college. I have been a Nanny multiple times, I worked in a preschool for 12 years. Many of those years was with SEND children.
My recent job was in a school in Essex. I was a mid day assistant as well as SEND support working 1-1 with two young autistic boys.
I have recently moved back home to Bridgend and am looking for some part time work while I still have my 7 year old to look after.
My Experience
Multiple Nanny roles- Taking children to school, after school clubs, Toddler groups, Doctors/Hospital appointment’s, looking after babies.
Pre-school practitioner- working 1-1 with Send children, speech & language help, supporting children at lunchtime, providing a safe environment, helping each child to reach their full potential.
Mid day assistant/Send Support- This was my latest job before I located back to Bridgend. At lunchtime I was a 1-1 support with a child who had Downs Syndrome. Ensuring she could eat safely without choking, aiding with toileting needs and just ensuring that fun was had and that all activities available was accessible for this little one.
Also during the mornings/afternoons I worked 1-1 with 2 young boys. Following a visual timetable and encouraging the boys to attempt new things. Ultimately to be there for them, to meet their needs where they were at all whilst maintaining a safe environment for them to thrive.
My Qualifications
I am currently paediatric first aid trained. I completed this at my last job.
I hold a level 2 CACHE childcare qualification.
Also while in the pre school placement I did many day courses with the local council. Although I don’t have these certificates as they were for my workplace, the knowledge I gained through them has carried on with me throughout the years.
My Availability
At present it would be during school hours, preferably between 9:30-2:30 to ensure I can still do the school run.
