Sally
Nanny in Hertford
My Summary
About Me
A caring, fun, friendly, highly motivated and organised individual. I have a long history in working with children and families, with over 25 years in the industry. I have experience of working in nurseries and, more recently as a sole charge nanny.
I have undertaken nanny roles where I have cared for the children on a sole charge basis, providing them with engaging, educational activities and ensuring their safety and well-being. However, there have also been times when I have worked alongside the parents which is something I also enjoy. I have also been responsible for menu planning and cooking healthy meals for the children.
I am seeking a long term position, ideally for 3 or 4 days per week (I am not available on Fridays) and am looking forward to building a relationship with the child/ren and supporting their development with quality interactions and activities.
My Experience
I have gained a wide range of experience during my childcare career.
As a nanny I have provided fulltime, sole charge care to children aged between 8 months and 13 years of age. I have been fully responsible for the children's care, providing age appropriate activities and organising suitable days out and visits to local places. I have sourced local groups to attend with the children and taken children swimming.
Additionally I have been responsible for cooking healthy meals for the children, ensuring they are offered a balanced, varied diet. I have also taken care of the children's laundry and bedding changes.
At the beginning of my career I spent time working in nurseries where I joined as a nursery nurse and worked my way up to take on the role of manager. I have managed 5 nurseries in total.
I was responsible for the following;
• Monitoring children’s development and progress
• Extending children’s learning through playing and interacting with them
• Modelling good childcare practice through meaningful interactions with children
• Ensuring the implementation of the EYFS
• Taking the lead in all safeguarding matters including attending and playing an active role in core group meetings and child protection conferences

• Writing healthcare plans for children with medical needs in conjunction with medical professionals
• Introducing and touring the nursery with prospective parents
• Supporting the induction process for families who are new to the nursery
