About Me
Hello! I’m Jennie, an experienced and caring registered childminder based in Barming, where I live with my husband, our two children (born January 2019 and March 2025), and our gentle, shy house cat.
I have worked in childcare since 2008, beginning my career in a nursery before spending 13 wonderful years as a private nanny. I have been childminding since November 2020 and truly love creating a warm, nurturing home-from-home environment where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn through play.
I care for children from 4 months old through to primary school age.
Opening Hours
Monday to Thursday, 7:30am – 5:30pm.
Every day is filled with opportunities for learning, creativity and fun. At home, I provide a wide variety of engaging activities including:
* Messy and sensory play
* Tuff tray activities
* Arts and crafts
* Seasonal and celebration-themed activities, such as Halloween, Christmas, Easter and more
During term time, we explore a different theme each week, with carefully planned activities, crafts and stories linked to the topic. This keeps learning exciting, encourages curiosity and helps children discover new interests.
We also love getting out and about! Our regular outings include:
* Local play parks and country parks
* Beach adventures
* Farm visits
* Toddler groups
* Soft play centres
* Play dates with my trusted childminder and nanny friends
One of the highlights of our week is our exclusive Forest School. Together with five fellow childminders, we run our own Forest School sessions twice a week in a beautiful woodland setting. These sessions give children the opportunity to build confidence, resilience and independence through hands-on experiences, imaginative play and exploration in nature.
We’re also incredibly lucky to have a well-known music company visit my home regularly to deliver fun, interactive music, singing and movement sessions that the children absolutely love.
Alongside our planned activities and outings, I strongly believe in the importance of free play. Children have plenty of opportunities to choose their own activities, develop friendships, build independence and simply enjoy being children in a relaxed, caring environment.
