About Me
Hello, my name is Laura and I live in Blackshots, Grays, Essex. I am married to my husband Luke and we have a beautiful son called Charlie who was born in September 2010 and a gorgeous daughter Emilia Rae who was born in April 2013. We have 2 beautiful dogs who are amazing with children and equally loved by children. One is a Cockapoo called Jessie and one is a Maltipoo called Molly.
I love the career I have chosen as an Ofsted registered childminder. I have the perfect job which is full of fun and smiles. I look forward to it everyday.
I have been working as an Ofsted registered childminder since November 2011 and have had the opportunity to work with lots of different amazing families and beautiful children of different ages.
We love doing all different types of indoor and outdoor activities such as story time, rhyme time, music & dance, building & creating structures using all different types of materials, water play, sand play, messy play, baking, Arts & crafts, mark making and so much more. We have so much fun outdoors and in the garden and experiment in all types of weather conditions. We regularly visit local playgroups, parks, libraries and other amenities. We celebrate different festivals & celebrations. I really enjoy seeing children learn new skills and excitedly using their achievements as they develop and grow.
I believe that working in close partnership with parents has a positive impact on children's happiness, learning and development. I am always willing to listen to parents concerns and share in their child's achievements both at home and in my setting. I keep parents regularly informed about my daily routines and childcare practices and share information about the children with parents using a daily diary or their prefered method of communication. I send weekly photographs to my parents so they are able to share their child's experiences whilst in my care.
For all children aged birth – 5 years (who are not in full time education) I cover the Early Years foundation stage (EYFS). I will create a learning journal for your child which you will have access to at any time and I will send this home regularly for you to look at.

My Experience
I have been an ofsted registered childminder since November 2011 and I have cared for children from a range of different ages between 4 months - 11 years which has provided me with knowledge and positive experiences through the different ages and stages of development, individual needs and behaviours.
I have a son and daughter of my own which provides me with continuous first hand experiences in childcare.
My Qualifications
I have completed “Cache Level 3 Understand how to set up a home based childcare service. I attend all relevant child protection training courses. I hold a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate and I am registered for Food Business for Childminders. I regularly attend childcare training courses in order to further my knowledge and I am a member of Pacey.
I am graded "OUTSTANDING" by ofsted. My Ofsted inspection report is available to view online and I can also show you a copy upon request.
I have achieved my Level 3 Diploma in Children's and Young people's workforce.
My Availability
My childminding service is available Monday – Friday from 9am until 3pm, term time only.
I currently have some placements opening in Sept 2023.

I highly recommend Laura’s Little Lovelies. Laura’s setting truly feels like a home from home and is full of enrichment, learning, and fun activities for the children. Laura and Steph are incredibly nurturing and they genuinely care about each child as an individual, which really shows in how happy and settled the children are.
When our son first joined, he had very limited communication skills, and I was so worried about how he would cope. Laura and Steph made sure all of his needs were met, constantly reassured us, and kept us updated throughout the day, which gave us so much peace of mind.
Since being there, his speech and language skills have improved massively, and Laura supported him every step of the way.
I’m so glad we chose Laura’s Little Lovelies and couldn’t recommend them enough.

I could not recommend Laura any more highly. Our two boys were both with her over a number of years and thrived under her care. I was always astounded at how much time and attention Laura and Steph gave to every child in their care, they both really saw and looked after each of our (very different!) boys as individuals. Laura’s communication is excellent, the environment is incredibly safe and enriching with lots of opportunities to get out and about and both boys loved every minute they spent with Laura and Steph over the years. One thing in particular worth noting: both our boys had allergies and/or intolerances and Laura was absolutely brilliant at coordinating with us about things they could and couldn’t have, and always making sure they weren’t left out of things.

My daughter was with Laura's Lovlies until she started school in 2024. The setting alongside Laura and Steph's guidance and care meant my daughter had the most seamless transition into reception and was well prepared for her next adventure. My son is with Laura currently, and his progression whilst there has been amazing. He has made many little friends aswell as plenty of new skills. Everyday is different, with days out in the woods or at the park, or days indoors painting and crafting. Laura has always provided exactly what the children need, and tailors every experience to suit them all.
I would honestly not even consider sending my children anywhere else, Laura cares for the children like they are her own. All of the children look forward to walking through the door in the morning, knowing a day of fun and excitement is ahead of them.
