About Me

Hello, my name is Chrissie and I am an Ofsted-registered childminder who has been graded Outstanding by Ofsted twice (2015 and 2022). I am truly passionate about my role and take great pride in providing high-quality, nurturing childcare. I absolutely love working with children and feel privileged to support their development, confidence and well-being every day.

In September 2022 (and previously in September 2015), I was awarded an Outstanding grade in all areas by Ofsted. During my most recent inspection, Ofsted highlighted that:

"Children's well-being and emotional health is of the highest importance. The childminder is extremely loving and frequently boosts children's confidence as they play. Her highly attentive and nurturing manner supports children to behave in an extremely positive way. Very young children show excellent levels of engagement and enjoyment."

I am committed to continuous professional development and regularly undertake training to enhance my knowledge and skills. I have recently completed the National Professional Qualification for Early Years Leadership (NPQEYL), which has further strengthened my expertise in delivering high-quality early years education and leadership within the sector.

Alongside this, I regularly attend professional training, including Coram PACEY courses, Childcare.co.uk webinars led by Sarah Neville, and other early years development opportunities including LA led. I also support and mentor other childminders within my local network.

My home is a clean, welcoming environment with a secure garden, and we also make regular use of nearby parks, playgroups and local amenities. I provide a warm, friendly and family-oriented setting where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn.

I believe in offering children a rich and varied range of experiences. This includes regular outings to age-appropriate playgroups, local parks, the library and playdates with other settings where children can explore, play and learn together.

I am also passionate about music (I play the guitar) and arts and crafts, and I encourage children to take part in creative activities that support imagination, confidence and fine motor development.

I deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) through engaging, play-based learning experiences that support children's development across all areas of learning. Children are encouraged to explore, ask questions and develop curiosity about the world around them. Through everyday activities they are introduced to early concepts such as letters, numbers, shapes, colours, music, movement and cultural awareness within a supportive home-from-home environment.

My approach to childcare focuses strongly on supporting children to develop independence, confidence and strong emotional security. I believe children learn best through warm relationships, consistent routines and meaningful real-life experiences. Everyday moments such as preparing food, tidying away toys, helping each other and exploring the local community all help children develop important life skills. By the time children leave my setting they are confident, curious learners who are well prepared for their next stage, whether that is nursery or school.

I offer drop-off and collection exclusively for Handsworth Primary School. My before and after-school care includes support with reading and homework, as well as a variety of planned activities based on the children’s interests, promoting both learning and relaxation.

I prepare fresh, nutritious meals daily, catering for individual dietary requirements. Promoting healthy eating habits and positive mealtime experiences is an important part of my setting.

My Experience
I have extensive experience caring for children of all ages, from babies to school-aged children. As well as being closely involved in the upbringing of my nephews, I am also trained to support children with autism through the ABA programme (PEACH trained), which has given me valuable insight into providing tailored, compassionate care for children with additional needs.

I am committed to creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, safe and confident to grow and learn.

If you would like to know more about my childcare services, please feel free to get in touch.

Latest reviews

Below are the latest reviews for Chrissie. Please note that reviews represent the subjective opinions of other Childcare.co.uk members and not of Childcare.co.uk. Parents must carry out their own checks and references on childcare providers to ensure that they are completely happy before enaging in the use of their services.

My daughter, Mabel, started her childcare experience with Chrisse at 16 months. I was worried as Mabel was quite clingy but from the moment she set foot inside that door my little girl was settled. Chrissie is just wonderful, children love her and parents are reassured by her. Mabel stayed with Chrissie until she was 3 and went to pre school. Chrissie prepared her so well and Mabel loved her 'Chrissie days' so much. She came on so well in her care, could recognise her name, feed herself, use the toilet and enjoy many craft activities. She grew in confidence and really thrived. We were all so sad when it was time to leave, Chrissie not only supported Mabel but me too. Whenever I questioned my parenting decisions she was there to reassure me and give me advice. I know that Chrissie will in be in our lives forever, she has been such an important part of Mabel's early years and I will be forever grateful.
