About Me
Hi my name is Jackie and I live in Ferryhill with my husband Anthony I have three children aged 33 Ross (Currently in the royal navy), 27Jordana and 23 Shaunna my two oldest children no longer live at home, we also share our home with 2 beautiful golden retrievers Cody is 7and Denver is 4 they both love being around children and are very soft and cuddly and the kids love to play and cuddle them both.
I am fully OFSTED Registered, and both myself, my husband, and both of my daughters all have a current DBS Clearance
I throughly enjoy helping children to thrive, learn and develop while having lots of fun along the way, I'm very passionate about my childcare setting and about the children who attend as I love to see the children reach their learning goals I'm passionate about providing a happy,safe,loving, caring and comfortable home from home environment for the children to learn,laugh and play. I like to work in close partnership with their parents so the children have the best start in life. Parents have access to their own private tapestry account where you can see your children's photos and learning observations
My Experience
Having brought up my own children for the past 33 years I have also been very lucky to of worked in the education services with Durham county council and for just under 8 years prior to setting up my own childminding setting, my experience spans almost 20 years within the education and early years sectors.
In this time, I was working at Ferryhill Pre-school (formerly situated at the local leisure centre).
In my time there, I worked as a Senco co-ordinator (additional needs children that needed one-one basis)
First aid coordinator
Safe guarding children coordinator
Working with key children to achieve the very best they could to prepare them for the future time in school
As well as being the deputy manager, I was in charge of observations and EYFS working closely with Durham county council educational department
(EYFS = Early Years Foundation stage).
You can view my Ofsted inspection. in which I received a rating of "Good."
My Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 in chilcare learning and development.
NVQ Level 3 in chilcare learning and development.
City and guilds childcare.
Playgroup Leader Practice.
Certificate in emergency and paediatric first aid.
Awareness of child abuse and neglect - core V3 and V4.
Food safety in catering award level 2.
Support Communication for children.
I am always updating my knowledge and qualifications to provide the best care and learning experiences for the children in my setting.
My Availability
Please contact me for availability for full - or part-time spaces.

childcare from Birth upto 3rd Birthday or term after only
my hours are:
Monday to Thursday
07:30 am till 17:30 pm
Friday's
07.30 till 4pm
but I may also be available for earlier or later times if required
my notice to you for my holidays will be a minimum of 4 weeks' notice, and I usually but not always take up to 20 days per year plus bank holidays.
My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My fees are
£5.00 per hour per child
I also offer the government funding childcare 15 or 30 hours from 9 months to 3 years
Food to be provided by parents
Healthy Snacks once a day no additional charge I will also provide drinks throughout the day no extra charge.

Jackie is fantastic. My little girl enjoys her days she spends there. She is always coming home with crafts she has made, she particularly loves being with the dogs too. She has come on leaps and bounds since being there with her speech and especially with socialisation. Jackie keeps me updated with the activities she has planned for the month and how my little girl is developing via tapestry. She gives me so much advance notice of any annual leave she is taking as well which means I have ample time to plan ahead. She always goes the extra mile and is 100% reliable. Couldn’t recommend her enough.

Our daughter started going to Jackie's over a year ago when she was only 9 months old, we met Jackie when I was pregnant and from the first meeting we knew she was going to be the right childminder for us.
Jackie is kind, caring, patient and attentive towards all of her children. Jackies home is a lovely setting and she goes above and beyond to provide brilliant activities and fun outings. We are able to go to work knowing our daughter is having a fantastic time in a safe environment.
Jackie provides regular updates on our child's development via Tapestry alongside plenty photos. We would 100%recommend Jackie to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy and friendly childminder.

From my little boys first visit to Jackie’s he’s loved going, sometimes we’ve struggled to get him to leave! Jackie’s home has always been so welcoming and my little boy is so happy to be there. His speech improved drastically over such a short time which is an absalute credit to Jackie, she’s really helped build his general confidence and social skills. The Tapestry updates are lovely, and she’s only ever a message away for any concerns or advice. My son is so content, comfortable and safe in Jackie’s care, she really looks after them like they’re her own. Looking forward to sending my youngest in a few months time!

Couldn't highly recommend Jackie enough! Jackie has taking care of my twin boys and elderly child for a few years. Jackie has provided outstanding learning for my twins and got them prepared for the world of school. Jackie's home is welcoming and fit for all ages. The care Jackie gives to mine and others is second to none and can't thank her enough for bringing my children on leeps and bounds with all the creative and learning she does with them.

Could not recommend Jackie’s tots enough! Our beautiful little girl absolutely loves Jackie and her family and gets so excited when we pull up outside. She has come on leaps and bounds with her speech and has become a lot more confident in her walking. Not only is Jackie a childminder to the children but a second mother. She treats them as her own, I had anxiety about leaving our daughter and jackie also helped me overcome that too. Couldn’t thank her enough ♥️

Honestly if I could give more then 5 stars I would
Jackie is not only amazing with the kids, she's a wonderful support for parents too. I was really concerned about my little ones speech and development when he first started but within a few weeks he come on in leaps and bounds and it's all thanks to Jackie and her family. He loves going and is always excited to play with the other kids and her dogs

Our baby girl started with Jackie when she was just 10 months old, and from the very beginning, we knew she was in the best possible hands. Jackie is an absolutely wonderful woman with a heart of gold. She provides a safe, nurturing environment where our little one not only feels secure but also thrives.Jackie goes above and beyond to make every child feel special, and her warmth, patience, and genuine love for what she does shine through in everything she does.
It’s such a comfort to know our baby is not only being cared for but truly cherished. Jackie has become such an important part of our lives, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the love and dedication she shows to our daughter. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her.

I am absolutely delighted with my experience with Jackie. Not only does she provide a nurturing and safe environment for my child, she communicates throughly with me leaving me at ease.Her dedication and patience just shines through. She is just fantastic and I couldn’t recommend her enough.

My son started going to Jackie’s when he was 5 month old and he settled in straight away, it didn’t take him long to get to know Jackie, such a friendly environment. I was made to feel so at ease going to work knowing he was happy in the environment he was in. It was lovely to see how much he had developed in Jackie’s care, she was so helpful if i ever needed advice on anything, and it was lovely to see all the fun things he had been getting up to during the day, couldn’t recommend enough!

I have been taking my little boy to Jackie for around 6months now and we love her!! AJ gets excited to go and I feel at ease leaving him in her care. I know he is well looked after and I regularly ask her advice on any health or behavioural concerns, being a first time mam I trust her knowledge and experience and it has become invaluable. She goes the extra mile for the children in her care.... there's many a time I've forgotten some food or essentials and she's stepped in for me, and I love hearing and seeing what he's been up to while I'm at work. She is very thorough in her job, her home is clean and tidy, and her 2 pet pooches are lovely and friendly with both us parents and our children (and I'm scared of dogs!). I'm dreading the time coming when we have to leave her as we've both become attached to her personality and mothering nature. I'm so happy I was recommended to her, I can't thank her enough for being AJ's stand-in mammy while I can't be with him.
