About Me

Hi my name is Dana and I am 29 years old. I am currently working in a nanny position with 2 families spread over 5 days.

Circumstances have changed for one of my families, so I am now looking for a new position from September onwards, but could be earlier if required.

I have been with my current family for 4 years which included 6 months off to have my own beautiful baby girl, who is 4 in November. She currently comes to work with me before and after schools and gets on brilliantly with the other children. This is something I would like to continue however not essential, grandma is on hand a couple of days a week to help out.

I have been a nanny for 6 years overall and before becoming a nanny I worked in a busy nursery on the outskirts of Royston.

I am an enthusiastic, energetic and motivated individual with excellent people skills. I have a level 3 nvq in childcare, a current crb, paediatric first aid and I am also registered with ofsted. I also hold a basic food hygiene certificate.

My Experience

May 2013 - Present

In this time I have worked for 2 different familes... both with 2 children. Unfortunately children have to grow up and start school which is why I am now looking for another position.

My nanny duties currently include... getting children ready for school in morning, breakfast and school runs. Activities and groups with the youngest child. Homework and activities after school and preparing healthy balanced meals.

February 2011- May 2013

I originally started with the nursery as an unqualified nursery assistant and within a month, started on a course where I undertook my Level 2 NVQ qualification, which I completed in 9 months. I then went on to complete my Level 3 NVQ qualification.

My duties included looking after children primarily between the ages of 3 months to 2 years, however often up to five. This includes changing nappies, giving bottles and assisting parents with toilet training and other aspects of their child's development. As well as taking an active role in the every day care of the children, other duties include extensive cleaning and varied aspects of paperwork.

I am first aid trained, and have undertaken a couple of other courses, including Maths for under fives, studies in to the play cycle and child protection.

It is very important here to work well as a team and to engage well with parents and carers of all ages. I am creative and take an active role in creating activities for the children which are age appropriate, including painting, drawing, physical play and many other activities.

I extend my skills and knowledge to babysitting for some of the parents/carers, friends and family. I also have young sisters so am experienced with both school and nursery runs.
