Childminder in Daventy (also available for babysitting)
My Summary
About Me
I am an Ofsted-rated Good childminder based in Daventry, offering a safe, loving, and fun home-from-home environment. I provide attentive, child-led care where every child feels valued, secure, and supported, helping them grow in confidence through play and everyday experiences.
I live with my husband, Jason, and my son in a child-friendly, non-smoking home with a secure garden. We also have two friendly, well-behaved cockapoos, Roxie and Coco, and two much-loved tortoises, Oreo and Cookie.
I hold a BA (Hons) Education Studies (Primary) Degree (2:1), which I achieved through the Open University alongside family life and work. My setting offers a nurturing, stimulating, and active environment where children feel confident and supported in their learning and development.
Alongside childminding, I am a Cub Scout Leader and Explorer Scout Leader at Ashby Fields Scout Group, where I regularly support outdoor learning and take children camping throughout the year. I am also actively involved in the local community, supporting Daventry Rugby Club, and previously served as Chair of Staverton PTA for over four years.
I offer drop-off and collection exclusively from Staverton Primary School, Daventry.
My aim is to provide attentive and sensitive care, ensuring children are always safe, secure, happy, stimulated, and comfortable. I treat every child as I would my own, and at the heart of my care is listening to children and supporting them as individuals—because every child truly matters to me.
My Experience
I aim to provide a normal daily routine and nurturing environment, incorporating the everyday experiences a child would naturally encounter with their parents. My practice is guided by the EYFS framework, and I carefully follow each child’s individual interests to support their learning and development.
I thoughtfully plan each child’s day to make the most of the opportunities available, both within my home and out in the local community. I strongly believe that children in my care are given the best possible start in life, supported through positive relationships, play-based learning, and meaningful experiences.
Our days may include playing in the garden, country walks, attending groups, visiting the library, craft activities and messy play, singing songs, reading stories, dressing up, construction and imaginative play, sand and playdough, puzzles, card and board games, baking cakes, using age-appropriate technology, and exploring creative play with everyday items such as cardboard boxes. Activities are always flexible and child-led, as I follow and build upon the children’s interests—supporting curiosity, confidence, and enjoyment in learning.
