About Me
Welcome to Happy Days Childminding
Hello, I’m Tammy, an Ofsted-registered childminder with over 32 years of experience working with children.
Caring for and supporting children has always been a huge part of my life. Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of childcare and education roles, including as a Nursery Section Supervisor, Teaching Assistant and Nanny, giving me a wealth of experience with children of different ages, personalities and developmental needs.
My Qualifications & Training
I am committed to keeping my knowledge and professional development up to date. My qualifications and training include:
* NNEB Nursery Nursing Diploma – Level 3, achieved with Distinction
* Level 3 Paediatric First Aid
* Anaphylaxis Awareness Training
* Defibrillator Training
* Regular and ongoing Safeguarding Training
* Enhanced DBS checked
* Ongoing professional development relating to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
A Home-from-Home Environment
I live in Harrogate with my wonderful husband, our daughter and our much-loved rescue cat, Whitey.
As a family, we enjoy being active, spending time outdoors, walking, swimming and simply enjoying time together.
Happy Days Childminding is situated on Crossways Drive in Harrogate, conveniently located close to Acorns Pre-School and Hookstone Chase Primary School.
My aim is to provide a warm, welcoming and relaxed home-from-home environment where every child feels happy, safe, secure and valued.
We have a large, dedicated playroom filled with carefully chosen toys, books and learning resources. The environment changes and develops alongside the children, and their own artwork and creations are proudly displayed so they can see that their achievements are valued.
Learning Through Fun
Music is a big part of our family life. My husband is a keen guitar player and we all love music, singing and dancing, so children can expect plenty of songs, rhymes, music and movement, dancing and sing-along sessions at Happy Days!
I believe that young children learn best when they are happy, interested and actively involved in their play.
My provision follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and combines planned learning opportunities with plenty of child-led play, free exploration and opportunities to follow children’s individual interests.
Throughout the year we enjoy different themes, stories and seasonal activities. These are used as a starting point for crafts, sensory experiences, story baskets, outings, music, imaginative play and outdoor learning. Children’s own interests are incorporated into our planning so that their learning remains meaningful and exciting to them.
Outdoor Learning & Our Community
We have a secure rear garden with key-code access, providing children with regular opportunities for outdoor play, exploration and learning.
We also believe that children’s learning should extend beyond the home.
We regularly enjoy our local community and the wonderful opportunities it provides, including:
* Local parks and woodland walks
* Library visits
* Playgroups
* Cone Exchange craft recycling centre
* Local cafés and community outings
* Nature walks and outdoor learning experiences
These experiences help children build confidence, independence, communication skills and an understanding of the world around them.
Why Happy Days?
As both a parent and an experienced childcare professional, I understand how important it is to find childcare where you genuinely feel comfortable leaving your child.
When I was returning to work myself, I realised just how difficult it could be to find childcare that was high quality, affordable, welcoming and flexible enough to fit around family life and work commitments.
This is one of the reasons Happy Days is so important to me.
I want children to look forward to coming through the door and parents to leave knowing that their little one is being cared for in a loving, nurturing and stimulating environment.
I work closely with parents and carers because I believe that strong partnerships between home and childcare help children to feel secure and achieve the very best outcomes.

Tammy has looked after our two children for the last 4.5 years and she has always been fantastic with them.
Unlike all the nurseries we visited ( including award winnings) The house is always immaculate and the kids couldn’t wait to come back again.
Your children will receive all the attention and support that they need throughout their first years.
A big THANK YOU, Tammy.
