About Me
I'm a full-time mum to 2 monkeys (Y4 & Y7), an ex-nanny & ex-primary school teacher. Now I do evening babysitting for various local families and for guests visiting Chester staying at my holiday home.
I also do occasional school pick-ups for other parents at my children's school and look after other children during school holidays.
Previous to this I was a nanny for two other monkeys when my own children were young (making 4 monkeys and lots of messy fun) and I was a primary school teacher before I had children.
My friends describe me as calm, smiley, dependable and lovable with a good affinity for children of all ages. I have a dedicated but relaxed attitude believing that life should be enjoyed in equal measure to hard work.
I enjoy catching up with friends, pottering about in my garden, spending time with my family and rare nights out with my husband.
I also enjoy music, travel, fine dining, the outdoors, animals, meeting new people, seeing and experiencing new things. I tend to see the positive in most situations and love a challenge.
My Experience
As a child I was always the mum to my friends, looking after them and watching over them. I knew from an early age I wanted to work with children.
During sixth form and university I financed my studies with babysitting work, graduated from Nottingham University with a chemistry degree and then went on to qualify as a primary teacher.
I worked in several schools across Cheshire and Manchester (mainly infant classes) but started focusing more and more on the teaching of science and environmental education at KS1,2 and 3.
At 30 I returned to university, retrained as a landscape designer and set up my own garden design business with a focus on private family gardens and school grounds. I also continued to babysit, nanny and tutor in my spare time.
I sold my design business when I had my daughter and we all moved to Chester once my son came along. I now support other families with childcare before and after school alongside my own children, as well as running my own Chester 'Enjoy the Pause' holiday home

BSc Chemistry (with physics and environmental science)
PGCE Primary Education with Science
Grad Dip Landscape Design
Teacher Facilitation and Training with Learning through Landscapes
CRB Checked (for my work in schools) - not recent
Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance
First Aid Certificate with St Johns Ambulance
Have my own transport and fully insured

My Fees
- Babysitting from £12.00 per hour
~ Maximum travel from Eccelston: 20 minutes
~ Minimum age of child: 1 years (or there abouts)
~ Minimum time: 2 hours
I'm already registered as self employed and therefore I deal with all tax and national insurance so you don't have too.
