About Me
I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since 1996 with a wide range of experience from birth to teens. We live in a semi detached house with an enclosed garden, in Musbury village near Axminster. We have 2 children of our own the eldest at university. I can offer free nursery places for 3 and 4 year olds and for some 2 year olds.
We offer a wide range of play and early learning activities as part of our friendly home based childcare service. We establish daily routines surrounding meals, naps, free play and planned activities. Activities include early literacy activities such as letters and sounds and stories; Early numeracy activities such as puzzles, Numicon, threading, and other number, shape and measure activities; Art and design includes mark making, paint, pens, pencils, cutting and sticking and dough; Music and movement, songs, rhymes and musical instruments; Role play and dressing up; Small worlds and construction including doll’s houses, a castle with knights and all kinds and sizes of wheeled toys; Understanding the world includes completing the daily weather chart and days of the week at circle time. We have lots of soft toys, dolls, tents and a home corner for play cooking and shopping. The children like to cook, bake bread and learn about healthy food. In the enclosed rear garden there are large wheeled toys, a small play house and a climbing frame, as well as sand and water. There is an enclosed playing field nearby with a large climbing frame, climbing wall, swings, balances and a full size football pitch.
I keep records of children’s interests and achievements in the form of parent/ childminder diaries, observations and assessments and termly reports. These are shared with parents and are used to inform my plans for your child’s learning and the group as a whole. I believe that partnerships with parents and carers are essential.

The Childminders Foundation, Pediatric First Aid, Equal Opportunities, Schema, Physical and Sensory Development, Early Years Foundation Stage, Risk Assessment, AXS01, Safeguarding Children Level 3, Tackling Domestic Violence, Letters and Sounds, Language and Communication, ICAN, SEN Code of Practice, Ofsted updates, The two year check training, Provider network meetings attended.
We have to grown up children of our own.
I have been judged as 'good' in my last four Ofsted inspections, the last in November 2022. We have two grown up children of our own.
My Qualifications
I have a first class Honours degree in Humanities (2008). Certificate in Early Years Practice (Level 4, 2005) and NVQ 3 Early years care and education (2000). My commitment to continuous professional development includes The Childminding Foundation, DCMA Special Needs, PLA Equal Opportunities, PLA Early learning Goals, DCMA Child Protection, Risk Assessment, Safeguarding level 3, Behaviour Management, Observation and Assessment, Revised Early Years Foundation Stage (development and welfare), Children’s Emotional Development, Sensory and Physical Development, Schema, SEN Code of Practice, AXIS Training, Letters and Sounds, Speech, Language and Communication, the 2 Year Old Check as well as Provider Support Meetings, Ofsted Updates and Childminding Network/Support Meetings. I have a Current first aid certificate. We are visited by our local Children’s Centre Teacher and Childminder Development Worker.
I received a 'Good' in my last five Ofsted inspections, the last in 2022.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
£5.00 an hour.
I can offer up to 30 hours a week Early Years Funding for 2 and 3 year olds an 15 hours a week funding for 2 year olds. Employer vouchers and Tax Free Childcare accepted.
