About Us
Puffins Preschool was originally set up in 1986 and is still going strong. We are a non-profit making committee run Preschool made up of parents, carers, grandparents, a chairman, secretary, treasurer, and Preschool manager. A strong committee with lots of parental involvement is vital and it brings the advantage of giving parents and carers a genuine say in their child's care.
At Puffins, we are committed to providing high-quality care and a learning environment for your child. We have a sound knowledge of early years practice to enable all children to reach their full potential.
We place great emphasis on strong teamwork between managers and staff and parents and carers to provide a cohesive partnership. We offer free settling-in sessions and would welcome the opportunity to show you around.

I have had a relationship with Puffins for almost 6 years; first with my daughter, followed by my son who just had his last day today and they both flourished during their time there.
All of the staff demonstrate great passion for what they do; they have exceeded expectations over the years; the communication has been outstanding and I've always felt that they really care.
My son has a severe milk and egg allergy and they have always given me full confidence that he is in safe hands, with the measures they put in place and checking things with me to ensure his safety. They have also always gone the extra mile to ensure that he is included in everything, for example, they made banana pancakes on pancake day. I couldn't ask for more from a childcare provider; I would recommend them to anyone and only have great things to share about them.

Thank you Aisha. It has been an absolute pleasure to have looked after both of your children and to have met your family.
My son started nursery with Puffins just after he turned 1. He got used to the setting and the lovely staff very quickly and from the very beginning he treated it like a second home. Due to the size of the nursery and their approach, it has a family feel which worked really well for my son. Vanessa, the owner of the nursery is lovely, very organised and helpful. We needed some additional days on short notice when our nanny got ill and she was always very quick to respond and rescue us whenever she had availability. They also went to Farmer Palmers for a trip which was so much fun for the kids. They are also really accommodating with keeping the little ones' schedule and letting the parents know how they slept etc. The other kids also seemed really nice, we never had an issue.

Puffins are a brilliant Preschool, my daughter had so much fun. The staff are very welcoming and helped my daughter with her development when she needed extra support with her speech. My daughter started Puffins when she was two and left when she went to school, without Puffin's help I feel my daughter would not have been school ready.
