Hi i am Amanda and have been in childcare for over 26years. I live in Worthing and only 400 metres from the beach and close to the parks, I cover Chesswood Junior School and Lyndhurst Infant School, supplying care before and after school as well as having day care children.
I work with my husband who has had the relevant training and we are both fully CRB checked
I provide a safe caring environment in my home, coupled with a lot of stimulating activities during the day..
I live in a four bedroom house, with my husband, 11 year old daughter and our dog Ruby. The garden has been transformed into an all weather playground for the children enabling them to play outside all year round. .
In my 26years I have worked in 3 day nurseries and prior to the birth of my baby was deputy manager in one of them. I have also worked as a nanny
After my own child was born I decided to use all my experience and become a childminder..
I currently care for children aged between 6 months and 10 years.
I hold current and up to date certificates in child protection, first aid, food hygiene, childcare practise [homebased] and NVQ level 3 in early years care and education. I am Otsted registered and am a member of the PACEY
I had my latest Ofsted Inspection in December 2018 and was rated OUTSTANDING.
A copy of the Ofsted report can be seen on the Ofsted web site.
I am accredited, which means I am able to claim funding for 3-4 year olds for up to 30 hours a week, for those that qualify or the statutory 15 hours for those that don't and the special 15 hours per week funding for eligible 2 year olds.
In January 2012 i attended a two day course called, INCLUDING ALL CHILDREN, which is to do with providing care for children with special educational needs,
I have recently been awarded a foundation degree in education and learning, level 4. This is to do with special educational needs.
In May 2012 I attended a one day course, run by West Sussex County Council, cocerning safegaurding children.

- Childminding from £4.20 per hour
My standard rate is £4-50 per hour per child and this includes drop offs and pick ups where required. There are discounts when I look after 2 children from the same family and my rates do vary depending on the length of time the children are here..i.e if I look after a child for 8 hours or more, in one session, then the fee is £4.20 per hour.
I take children who qualify for the 2, 3 and 4 year old funding .THERE ARE NO TOP UP FEES FOR CHILDREN ON FUNDING. I ALSO OFFER THE 30 HOURS FUNDING TO THOSE WHO QUALIFY.
Unlike a lot of settings I do not charge for bank holidays, as I do not work on these days, neither are there any charges for when I am on holiday.
I offer breakfast for the early starters, mid morning and afternoon snacks, lunch is supplied and a cooked meal is provided for all children being collected after 5.pm. All meals, snacks, trips and treats are included in the hourly fee. THERE ARE NO HIDDEN EXTRA CHARGES.
I do not ask for a deposit or charge retainers for spaces booked in the future. If a space is booked and then cancelled at a later date then one months average fees are payable.
Again, unlike a lot of settings I do not ask for fees to be paid in advance but expect all outstanding amounts to be paid by the 7th of the following month.

My son has been going to Amanda’s almost full time since January 2021. As a lockdown baby one of my main concerns was how he would cope being looked after by other people.
From day one he settled well with Amanda. He is always so happy to get there and go and play with the other children I barely get a goodbye!
Amanda, Amanda’s mom and Peter really care about each of the children and it feels like a home away from home for my little boy. When he started he was really reluctant to try new foods, Peter and Amanda have been really patient with him and he’s come a long way since!
There’s always something exciting going on - trips to the park, bouncy castles, water play to name a few as well as a focus on crafts which has resulted in some lovely pictures.
Getting the right care for you and your child is such a big thing, we feel so lucky our son got a spot with Amanda. Amanda’s experience is a great source of comfort, she’s seen it all, which was very reassuring and as first time parents she’s been a great source of advice for us. Amanda is really accommodating and we’ve felt comfortable with her and the team since day one. We really couldn’t ask for more.
Our son (currently 17 months) has been going to Amanda and Peter since November 2020 now. It was important to us that Austin felt safe and happy wherever he went. Well, he gets that in spades at Amanda and Peter's: Amanda gives him all of the hugs and showers him with love, he's fed brilliantly, and you can tell that they have a genuine love for children, it's lovely!
I love that it's run from Amanda and Peter's house. I really believe it helps Austin feel at home, rather than a nursery classroom type setting. They've just bought the children new play equipment for their garden too - they're devoted! They also go out, whenever the weather permits, to the beach and local parks. It's honestly just lovely. It makes me so happy to know that Austin is so well looked after when I have to be away from him - sometimes I go to pick him up and he and Amanda are just having a little snuggle on the sofa. ❤️
On top of all of that, they do endless activities whilst there, especially for any special occasions: Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day etc. They even bought all of the children an Easter egg and a Christmas present - it's a house filled with love. You won't find anywhere more loving for your child to attend.
Lastly, they're so accommodating! As a primary school teacher myself, I often find that timings change last minute. Amanda and Peter are so flexible with regards to having Austin for longer periods of time. He's also only booked in for term time, but if I need a day or 2 during the holidays, they'll always check if they can have him for me.
I wouldn't send Austin anywhere that I didn't think he felt comfortable, and I certainly wouldn't recommend anywhere that I didn't feel strongly about, but I can say, wholeheartedly, that Amanda and Peter (and the other adults they have working with them - Sasha and Amanda's mum) are absolutely marvellous. Austin's so lucky to have got a place there. I'll be forever thankful that he started his time away from me at a home away from home. Thankyou all!
We randomly found Amanda Childminding on this website and decided to give them a visit after reading all the comments. We felt relaxed as soon as we walked into the house and decided to send our little one there after just the first visit. And that was the best decision ever! Amanda and Peter (also Sasha&Amanda’s mum) have been truly amazing and I’m not afraid to say they probably look after our little one better than we do lol!!! They truly care about the children, always do a lot of activities with them. I don’t think there has been a single day where Caleb comes home without any new arts or creations! Caleb absolutely LOVES being there. In the mornings he would get to the door before us desperate to go, when we drop him off nowadays he doesn’t even turn around to look at us or say bye and just walks straight in (he loves his parents really lol!). During the weekends he would often chant ‘Man-na’ :).
We cannot thank them enough for the care, the love and everything they do for him.
Response by Amanda Childminding on 12/04/2021:
Thank you for your review. Caleb has certainly blossomed during the last six months. It is fascinating to see how he has learnt what the routines are and he is always there to help get things ready.
Amanda and her family have been amazing! Especially during these uncertain times. My little one loves going and will happily walk in without so much as a backwards look. He is always coming home with crafts that they have done during the day. Amanda is friendly and happy to discuss any concerns you might have about little one and provide support where needed.

Thank you for your review. Your youngster is a pleasure to care for and watching how he is developing is very interesting. He is always in the middle of things when playing and is certainly no shrinking violet.
Amanda and her husband are amazing! I am a single parent who works full time with a very complex situation. Amanda and Peter have done everything they can to support me and my children and I couldn't do it without them. I have been so lucky to find them.
