*During the Corona Virus outbreak, I’m afraid I have had to close my setting & am therefore not able to offer assistance to key workers as I am currently pregnant & therefore one of those most at risk.*
Hi there, my name is Lou.
I’m a Mum & Stepmum of 5 beautiful children, Who range from 2-14 years old.
I currently have 4 spaces for children under the age of 8yrs, depending on days & times and multiple spaces for children over 8yrs. In terms of Ofsted ratios, this means that I will have space for 2 children between 1 & 5 years old and 2 children between 5 and 8 years old.
I drop off & collect from Latimer Primary School in Anstey & am based just around the corner from Wolfdale, Woolden Hill Primary & Anstey Martin High School.
I like to give children in my care the opportunity to mingle with larger groups of children by making use of the local surestart centres and the local library as well as taking them on outings to the local parks and museums and the city farm. I also keep in touch with other local childminders & attend activities with them.
I like to offer a daily diary for the younger children in my care, capturing all those special 'wow' moments and for monitoring your childs developmental needs, I use an online learning journal that parents can log in to so that you as the parent / carer won't miss out on a thing and still maintain that important connection with your child whilst you are apart.
My family and I live in a (soon to be extended!) 3 bed semi detatched house with a good sized enclosed rear garden (with a veggie patch, providing the opportunity for some hands on learning, along with swings, slide, see-saw & various sit & ride toys) with our pet dogs Hendrix & Olly, our pet cats
(who predominantly live outdoors and only come in at night), Fi Fi, Harry, Leo and Georgina, and our 5 chickens who provide us with fresh eggs daily in the warmer weather and provide a wonderful learning opportunity for the children - all of which are very well behaved, up to date with vets checks and jabs - and all fabulous with kids of all ages!
I live 5 mins from the Glenfield Hospital, 15 mins from the city centre, and less than 10 mins from the M1 (I'm not far from the A46) - so very easy to get to by car and bus. Plus I have my own car (that is fully insured and up to date with MOT's and services) so can also come to collect / return your child (obviously taking into consideration other commitments).
I am kind, considerate, trustworthy and most importantly fun! Your child will enjoy themselves, grow develop and have their little imagination stimulated whilst in my care.
I am a strong believer in learning through play. I beleive that every child is unique and should be treated as such but at the same time that every child should have equal opportunities. I promise to make your child feel safe and secure in the warm and loving environment that I offer and will do my very best to help your childs development flourish!
I am an OFSTED registered childminder and am allowed up to 6 children under the age of 8yrs (including my own) in my care and a further 6 over the age of 8 yrs. I scored 'Good' in my OFSTED inspection.
I have been a registered childminder since February 2011, and have also had plenty of hands on experience looking after children of all ages for over 10 years prior to becoming registered. I have looked after children from a couple of months old to 13 years old.
I also have experience in specialist adult care as I worked as a home carer for 18 months.
And last but not least - I have culminated 10 years experience working on the front till in Dominoes toy shop, often going back to work for the xmas period - so if you've ever been into 'Leicesters Favourite Toyshop' around the festive period and have seen a crazy lady dressed up to the nines in fairy wings, antlers, tinsel and anything that flashes - it was probably me! lol!
I have completed several courses in early years childcare (0-8 yrs), these courses were:
* Getting to know the EYFS
* Understanding the Four Themes
* Inspirational Babies Workshop
* Starting with the child
* Using Q Cards and Sharing Good Practice
* Being a Reflective Practioner
* Finding your way around the revised EYFS
*Unpicking the revised EYFS
*Equality & Diversity
*Home Learning Environment
*Building Babies Brains
*Communication & Language in the Early Years
I also hold a certficate in Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 in Food Hygeine, Health and Safety, Safeguarding Children and Introduction to Childcare Practice Unit 1.
As well as the above, I have 9 GCSE's, grade C and above, 1 A Level and a BTEC National Diploma in Fashion & a Foundation Degree in Fashion & Costume (I'm a very creative person).
I want to be as flexible as possible, I know and understand that everybody is different and that we don't all fit into that 9-5 slot, So I try to do my very best to work with you as the parent and be available when you need me (provided that I have no prior commitments). This includes short term care and one- off occasions where you need care for your little one and you are struggling for child care.

- Childminding from £3.85 per hour
I do charge a small fee of 45p per mile for transportation of the child (with the exception of school drop offs and collections). I charge half fee for holidays either way and i will take up to 5 weeks per year and allow the parent/carer to do the same - though I do try to work with parents on these dates where possible to cause as little inconvenience as possible. I charge full fee for unexpected absence or a child being off sick and don't charge you if I am off sick or have to take time off for things such as training. I accept child care vouchers via the care-4 scheme. I am also looking to provide the 15 hours early years funded slots.
I can provide snacks such as bisuits, fruit and yogurts for free.
Payment is to be made in advance either on a weekly or monthly basis. A retainer fee will be charged for holding a space for a child and this can be negotiated upon the completion of a contract.
I also offer a 2 week settling in period, so that the parent/carer and child/ren have a proper opportunity to get a feel for the setting and the parent can terminate the contract at any point within this 2 week period without notice being required if they feel that their child has not settled within the setting.
All fees and rates will be discussed upon completion of contracts.

I had my child prematurely and she was on home oxygen and I was so lucky to have Louby as her childminder as she took the oxygen tank in her stride and made my daughters care about her and took her out and allowed her to have fun and experience so much. She no longer has the oxygen and is in school now but still gets excited about speaking to or seeing her favourite carer. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough she is so good with children and building their confidence in a fun and nurturing way.
I've known Louby for a while as a childminder and all I can say is shes one of the best. She caters to each childs individual needs. Works one to one with them all. I have 3 children 5yo and 18 month Twin boys. All 3 have such a great relationship with her. I would reccommend to anyone.
Just want to say how happy i am with this childminder, she is very easy going, makes you feel welcome and has a very good nature. you can clearly tell she enjoys looking after kids. She lives up to her intro on here. My children adore her and has made them feel at ease since trasfering from previous childminder to her two weeks ago. I just cant believe that ive found the perfect childminder
