About Me
Hello My name is Doreen and I have been an OFSTED registered childminder since 2006. RATED GOOD in 2025. I have a vast experience working with children, apart from having 3 grown up children, I have worked in a primary school. scouts group, church groups and in a nursery throughout my career in childcare. I have experience looking after babies under 1`s , twins and even triplets! In The setting I have children aged from 1 to 9.
I am a Level 6 childcare practitioner and I have a BA Hons in Education.
I provide home from home childcare I have a playroom full of children`s educational toys and focus on curiosity approach were children have opportunities for crafts, role-play, messy play and free play. we have a range of toys that varies in age and stage. i have a separate dinning area and a separate sleeping area, and outdoor space. We go for walks in woodlands, parks in the surrounding area, church groups and libraries.
I provide home cooked dinners and provide fruit snacks. I also cater for children with allergies and cultural believes. I work in partnership with parents to give children choices and care for their needs.
Children feel safe and secure in my setting, Myself, my Partner and grown children have got DBS clearance and 1st Aid training in Date. My Partner is my assistant and both of us have Safeguarding Lead training, 1st Aid, DBS and EYFS training in date in order to keep the setting current with the requirements and guidelines set by the Govt. Additionally children have my support to develop new skills across all areas of the EYFS. The child`s development is observed and this allows me to facilitate the next steps for individual planning and interests. I value each child equally and help build their strengths and improve their learning development by following the EYFS statutory framework.
I enjoy working with children, I am passionate about bringing the child forward, seeing them thrive and grow happy and confident.
I believe a childminding setting is more beneficial to the child`s Personal Social Emotional Development, the child will have more one to one in a small setting.
I may have spaces from time to time, each child must attend a minimum of 15hrs per week. I open the setting early at 7:30, and throughout the year. I offer the Free entitlement 30hrs for 1yr olds 2 to 3 year olds, and 15 hour free childcare for 3- 4 year olds provided by the GOVT subject to terms and conditions the provider has to adhere.

- Childminding from £7.50 per hour
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
babies under 1 the rates £8.50 p/hr . over the age of 1 the rate is £8. Aged 3 rate is £7.50
