About Me
I have been a childminder for over 25years and I have been childminding in Carrickstone for 21years. I offer a service where the children in my care feel happy, safe and at home. I have built strong relationships with both children and parents. I adapt my services to meet the individual needs and interests of the children In my care. I offer a wide range of activities such as art and crafts, baking, construction and dress up. I am an active person and take advantage of my locality where I often take my children on nature walks and I access local sporting facilities.
We also attend castles, play parks and lots of other places where the children can have fun and learn new experiences.
For infants I keep parents involved in their child's day I keep a daily home link book. This allows parents to take the book away and comment on their child's day. I work alongside my older children to plan their weekly activities and snacks. This planner is available in advance for parents to see. I still maintain strong relationships with previous parents and children. As a mother I recognise choosing the right childminder for your child is one of the hardest challenges you will face when returning to work therefore I can readily provide reference contacts of previous/current parents to give you an insight into my service.
My Experience
I have been a registered childminder with SCMA/SCSWIS over 21years. I have again achieved a grade 5 which I have kept for many years.
I have built up professional relationships with parents, my local school and nurseries where I drop off and pick up. I enjoy working with the children and they have a great input into what we do. My aim is to do the very best for your child and work together with you so that your child enjoys their childminding experience. I create situations which allow the children to investigate their interests and surroundings.
I often attend playgroups/toddlers and other classes which allow my children to interact with others. I also attend organised events promoted by North Lanarkshire Council as well as other organisations e.g. NL fun day and Hobbycraft experiences.
My Qualifications
I have gained and maintained certificates in Food Hygeine, children's First Aid and child protection.
I also attend other courses I think relevent to my service for example "Mind-stretchers" and health and nutrition courses.
I have also gained a NC Certificate in Childcare and Education and an SVQ certificate in Childcare and Eduation.
I have also completed a Scottish Progression in Childcare and Education and have most recently achieved an HNC certificate in Birth to three years.
My Availability
I have one day places available just now which can be for 0-5 or 5 and above.
I can pick up and drop off from local nurseries and schools.
My services run from 8am- 5.30 however times can be flexible.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.50 per hour
My fees are competitively priced and we can discuss these.
I am also a fully funded provider with NLC offering 1140 hours for eligible 2’s and 3/4 year olds.
These hours can be split between nursery and myself to fit in with your needs.
