hello
we are Melanie and lee and have been registered childminder since 2006,we live in Pontprennau area of Cardiff, with our children, and service several schools in the area, we offer wrap around care for children from, birth to 7 years and we are registered with the Care inspectorate Wales (C.I.W.)
we live within easy access of the M4 and A48,in a house in a quiet cul-de-sac with its own separate childminding room to nurture and stimulate your child's needs and development, we offering outdoor activities, including soft-play and visits to local amenities,we try to ensure your child has a full and varied day that will stimulate and educate your child.
We follow the foundation phase, which encourages children to be creative and imaginative,and makes learning more enjoyable and more effective.
At home our first language is English,but we also promote the welsh language with songs, books and resources.

we can offer collections and drops to you home as we have a nine seat minibus,and we offer a very flexible service.
My Experience
we are parents to twin, and have been childminding since the children were toddlers, fully registered with the C.I.W. and a member of PACEY formally know as N.C.M.A
Since 2006 we have child minded many children,and have enjoyed the experience of looking after children, watching them taking their first steps, and progressing on to their first day in school, and growing into young adults.
My Qualifications
We have completed the National Childminding Association (N.C.M.A) Introduction to childcare course, and have been approved and registered by Care inspectorate Wales (C.I.W). we are also member of P.A.C.E.Y formally the N.C.M.A and have full public liability insurance.
We are qualified first aides, and both hold full up to date DBS certificates.

Mel and Lee have had my son since he was 4 months old and finding them has been a complete blessing. I was very nervous leaving him with anyone but as soon as I met Mel and Lee I was filled with confidence. I work shifts and they have been very flexible with extra hours etc. Luca smiles from ear to ear when we get to their house and that is exactly what any parent wants when trusting someone else with their child. We can’t thank them enough and will miss them a great deal.

We have been using Mel and Lee for the last 7 years. They have been very accommodating when needed and my children have loved going there.
The children go on many different trips including soft play, the park and various walks in different locations. I would definitely recommend.

I am beyond grateful for the exceptional care Mel & Lee have provided for my three-year-old over the past year. Their dedication, warmth, and professionalism have made a profound impact on my child's development and happiness. Every day, Mel & Lee created a nurturing and stimulating environment, filled with fun activities, educational play, and loving guidance. My daughter eagerly looked forward to spending time with them and it was clear how much they genuinely cared for each child in their care. We have been with Mel for 6 years for wrap around care for our two children at the start and end of school days, which involves drop-off and collection from school. There has always been good, clear communication and Mel has worked hard not only to keep them safe, but also happy and entertained. There is regular feedback about our children and their day at pick-up time. The environment is calm, warm and comfortable. The children enjoy the garden in the summer and trips to the park. Our 2 always enjoy the food and look forward to their favourites every week! We are very lucky to have found a childminder so reliable, trustworthy and enthusiastic to look after our two children.

My son has attended mels for a year, she welcomed him into her home, my son has enjoyed his time with Mel. She goes above and beyond, she keeps me updated on what they have been doing and what my son has eaten.

My 5 year old has been taken care of by Mel and Lee for over 2 years. Originally they provided wrap around care going into school drop offs when we moved to full time school. I honestly could not recommend them enough, my daughter is a very shy child who had separation issues when first placed into childcare - Mel and Lee dealt with the situation amazingly. I could have asked for more from a childminders it felt as though a member of the family was taking care of her. They have always kept me fully up to date with her progress and how her days has gone even if it’s just to let me know she has made it to school. I recommend them as childminders to a close friend of ours as I was confident that all children would fit in well here.
My daughter and I are very sad to leave but due to a house move we are changing school so no longer in their area. Mel and Lee changed our opinion of childminders and we can’t thank them enough for taking care of our daughter like she was part of their family.

We will miss you all, and wish you all the best for the future.
They have looked after my twins for the last couple of years. They have helped with toileting and the logistics of school runs with my eldest. The girls have thoroughly enjoyed their time with mel and Lee and we couldn't have found better childminders. They are very sad to be leaving to start full time school and we will definitely miss mel and lee and all their friends. The girls have enjoyed going on outings, arts and crafts, soft plays and park visits. They have always kept me well informed and let me know how they have got on. Its nice to know i have been able to leave them and go to work without any worries. Best childcare we have ever had.

we have used Mel & Lees services for the last three years,my daughter started full time school and our young son remained,he has enjoyed his time with them and he thinks he is part of their family as they treat him so good,he has made lots of friends and enjoys all the activities arrange by them,we are very sorry to be leaving their services only due to relocation,we wish them all the best for the future and will keep in touch.

Mel and Lee have looked after my two daughters for the last 3 years. They have been brilliant with both of them, supporting the girls through potty training, weaning my youngest onto solid foods, taking them on lots of outings and adventures and doing lots of craft which the girls use to bring home regularly! The girls have had an amazing time with Mel and Lee and will really miss going to them everyday!

Mel and Lee looked after my little girl for a year before she started school. They are kind and compassionate and made my daughter feel so welcome in their home. They do lots of day trips and interesting things at home. My daughter loved going to them and loved them both equally. I felt really reassured that she was having a lovely time while I was in work and regular picture updates were brilliant. I always found Mel and Lee very flexible with days and their house is immaculate. As a teacher, it's hard to find childminders who don't charge over the holidays but Mel and Lee are perfect childminders for teachers! I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.
