About Me
Hi my name is Jodie and I run Nature and Nurture Childcare. I offer a high quality, homely, family orientated environment in a dedicated childminding area separate from the main house . I only take a small number of children which allows me to offer exceptional care and attention for each child. In addition, this enables me to offer outings and experiences that aren't possible elsewhere.
I have my own vehicle so can offer school collection and drop off from St Matthews School Cainscross. I also regularly take the children on outings such as:
• Wildlife trails, farm parks & Zoo's
• Special events and activities
• Museums and places of interest
• Soft play areas
• Local baby and toddler groups where they can meet and interact with other children
• Local parks
• And much more
I have a spacious home with a large fully enclosed garden that’s accessible all year round for play and outdoor experiences.
I realise that choosing childcare is one of the most important decisions a parent will make and that every child needs a different transition based on their individual personalities and needs. That’s why, if you decide you’d like your child to join me, I offer settling in sessions for you both to attend. This gives them chance to acclimatise in their own time and you the reassurance that you won’t be leaving them until they are happy and confident in my care. Often it’s the parents that find it harder to adjust than the children, so these settling in sessions are really important for you both.

My Experience
I believe (and research suggests) that it is far more beneficial for a child to spend their first few years in a home based environment. When my first child was born we always did lots of activities together, including regular outings throughout the week to give him different experiences and opportunities.
When it was time to return to work we looked into other childcare options, but we couldn't find a service that offered the same level of care and attention, with the same quality of activities and outings that Max and I had enjoyed together. So rather than compromise, I decided to do it myself and share that special upbringing with a small number of children through my childminding service, Nature and Nurture Childcare.
Since starting childminding I've cared for a wide range of children, both pre-school and school age, male and female on a full and part time basis.

I couldn't compliment Jodie and her family more with the childcare service that is provided. Not only does Jodie provide a safe setting and stable childcare for my son but she make us feel confident that he is being empowered to thrive and grow. We have been with Jodie for a year and in this time Jodie has built a great relationship with our son and he even sometime resists coming home now :)
Jodie has a lovely home that is more than Equipped with everything that the children need to grow, learn, play, explore and rest and is always maintained, clean and safe for the children.
Jodie has always provided a great range of healthy meals for our son, providing plenty of hot and cold foods including healthy snacks. Jodie has even managed to get him to eat things he wouldn't attempt with us.
There are an amazing range of activities that Jodie provides on a daily basis to suit all of the children in Jodie's care, just some examples are going to groups, cooking, art and craft, musical activities, country walks, texture and sensory activities, reading and many more. Jodie has been able to organise trips out with the children, some of which include cattle country, farm parks, the docks and legoland.
Jodie has good structure to her day but incorporates the individuality of the different children and tailors the day to suit all the children's needs.
Our sons journey with Jodie has been recorded in a learning journal full of photos and observations of his progress and trills while in Jodie's care, we have taken great pleasure in these journals and enjoy showing them off to family. Jodie has also provided us with reassurance by filling out a daily diary informing us of all information end needing to be passed on for that days care.
When originally looking for childcare my partner and I looked at other minders and nursery settings but, Jodie stood out above the rest for many reasons! Not only did we feel that Jodie would provide and safe and secure environment but she would nurture or son and give us the confidence that he was receiving the best care possible. When talking about our childcare to others my partner and I can't boast enough, and would always recommend Jodie with high praise!!!
Overall
From the very start, Jodie has made me feel completely happy with leaving my 1 year old daughter in her care. The settling-in process that she offered was brilliant, particularly as my daughter took quite a while to be comfortable with me leaving her; Jodie was prepared to offer as many days as it took for my daughter to be settled and for me to be reassured before going back to work. This was in complete contrast to my nursery, which offered 2 short settling-in sessions.
I have been very impressed with the range of activities that Jodie does on a day-to-day basis and the attention she gives to my daughter's development. The daily diary is always detailed and Jodie had also created a comprehensive journal recording significant milestones and development. Jodie takes lots of photos every day, so we can see how much fun my daughter has been having. Jodie has taken my daughter out to many and varied locations, including local groups, museums, farms and zoos and I know my daughter has really enjoyed these outings.
I am very happy with the home cooked food which Jodie prepares and I love the fact that she has an allotment which means she gets the children involved in learning about food.
It is a cliche, but it does feel like my daughter has a home from home - she even has her own room to sleep in. I couldn't ask for more from Jodie and I would have no hesitation in recommending her.

Overall
Jodie and her husband were incredibly warm, friendly and welcoming when we visited them regarding the care of our son. It was obvious that they love what they do, we immediately felt at ease and I could tell our son felt the same way too. The setting was very homely and incredibly professional, Jodie had great knowledge about the early years foundation stage and we loved the diarys/developmental books that she kept. I was impressed by the home cooked food that the children were fed too. An absolute lovely lady and setting.
