About Me
My name is Kirsten Goodfield. I have 5 children aged 21-33. The youngest still lives at home and my daughter lives close by with her partner and two sons. My other children all live locally.
I am registered with Ofsted and a member of PACEY. I am also accredited and able to offer both the 15 hours government funded childcare and the extended 30 hours funding.
I aim to offer good quality childcare in a warm and caring family environment. I provide a varied range of good quality, fun and stimulating toys, books and equipment.
We take part in a wide range of activities and outings. For example baking , crafts, messy play, imaginative play, dressing up, outdoor play, stories and song time.
Each week we visit our Childminding group within the village, and a multi-sensory music group. We also visit the library and park and enjoy lots of walks. In the good weather we often walk to the next village to feed the horses.
I like to teach the children about nature and we learn the names of birds that visit the garden, the names of plants and trees that we see on our walks. We enjoy collecting conkers and picking blackberries in the Autumn and looking for signs of new life as the bulbs appear in the Spring.
I work closely with parents to ensure that I am meeting the individual needs of all the children in my care. I take a lot of photo's of our adventures and these are shared regularly with parents.
My Experience
I have had 5 children of my own and I also have two Grandsons and a Granddaughter.
I have been an active member of the Toddler Groups and Pre-schools that my children have attended and have spent several years on the committee. Throughout the time my children attended Primary School I have been involved in the PTA.
I have been a Registered Childminder since December 2004, giving me 19 years of experience of working and caring for other peoples children. There have been many changes over the years and I have cared for many families. This has given me a wealth of practical knowledge and experience to draw on.
My Qualifications
I am a Registered Childminder and have been registered since Dec 2004. At my last inspection I received a 'Good', the 2nd highest award.
I am also Accredited - this allows me to offer the Government funded 15 and 30(for those eligible) hours per week Childcare. I can also offer places for Funded 2's.
I have an enhanced CRB check, as does everyone over the age of 16 that lives in my house.
I hold a First Aid Certificate. I have the Diploma in Home-based Chidcare Level 3, Grade A.
I have recently completed and passed the Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young Peoples Workforce.
I have a Foundation Certificate in Food and Nutrition and also in Basic Food Hygiene.
I have experience with various allergies and am trained in how to use an Epipen.
I undertake regular training and keep up to date with all legislation and requirements.
My Availability
I am open Monday to Thursday from 7.30 am - 5pm.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
I currently charge £5.00 per hour.
Snacks and drinks and are included in this rate.
Any children's groups or outings are payable by the parents.
I accept Childcare vouchers and I am currently registered for Allsave, Kiddivouchers, Salarysaver, Accor and Computershare.

Our daughter is 20 months old and has been with Kirsten for 2 days a week, from June 2020 to March 2021. Throughout this time Cambridge has been in and out of lockdown, but Kirsten has remained a constant part of our daughter's life and really reduced the impact on her throughout the pandemic.
Kirsten has provided as much variety as possible in her setting, and puts a huge amount of effort into planning activities which are developmental and fun for the children. She is very trusting and we have felt completely at ease with our daughter in her care, we know she treats the children like her own being kind and caring to them and also starting to teach them basic boundaries and rules around safety etc.
She is incredibly organised, makes everything clear and has a really good system for communication between her and all the parents through her watsap group and Facebook page. she also emails newsletter updates and photos etc. of the children doing activities and lets us know what they have been up to.
she takes them out regularly on walks/exploring and lets them 'be kids' getting mucky and we have really valued that too. we have felt Kirsten has been a huge part in the progress our daughter has made developmentally.
Kirsten has also made an effort to send Arla home with lots of things she's made e.g. mothers day/christmas cards for us and little gifts for special occasions. she has been incredibly generous which is testament to her kind nature, particularly as how good value for money her childminding services are.
