About Me
My setting is called "little devils childcare"
I have been childminding for 37yrs , I began when my eldest son was small. I live in Peacehaven with my husband as all my children have grown and flown the nest .
I have been registered with Ofsted since 2000,prior to this it was with the local county council.
I live in central Peacehaven close to many parks,schools and shops. The majority of the ground floor of my house is used for the caring of the children this includes a fully equiped dedicated playroom. I have a fully enclosed,secure garden that is an enjoyable place for any child. I have 9 chickens, 2 ducks and 2 very friendly dogs.
I have years of experience with children with additional needs.
I am also an EYEE provider, which means that if you wish for your child to stay in a smaller setting once they qualify for up to 30 hours of funded government hours, I am qualified to offer this, we can fill in the forms together and you just pay me for any hours that exceed the hours granted. . EYEE funding has now been extended to many 2yr olds as well as the 3 and 4 year olds. ( many people feel there children thrive better in a smaller environment but still want them to experience a different setting from home,this is where my setting comes in.]
I also accept work place childcare vouchers.
All child in my care will have the opportunity regardless of race, sex, colour, religion to experience as many of the activities and outings that are available. I do not believe in stopping a child from playing with any toy that is age appropriate.[ for example, i will allow girls to play with cars and boys to play with dolls]
I will encourage all children regardless of ability to participate in all activities, and if ability is an issue, i will do my best to make the activity inclusive.
My Experience
As I said before I have been childminding for over 37 yrs, I had my most recent inspection 2023 and am happy to say I achieved 'GOOD' in all areas.

I have 3 adult children of my own and I have looked after minded children from the age of 6weeks- 13yrs during my career.
I have cared for several children with special needs ,including a young boy with Downs Syndrome, a young boy with Cerebral Palsy and a young girl with feeding problems.
My Qualifications
I have all relevant qualifications such as paediatric first aid,inclusion awareness, child protection also in adition to these I have my Quality First Level 3 and NVQ 3 in childcare, I have finished the Lauchpad quality assured course, and am now on the East Sussex Quality Assured Course, which takes over two years to complete. I have also done a huge variety of short courses and am willing to take any course needed to help me care for your child if they have SEN or not. I am also an Early Years Education Entitlement provider.[EYEE] I am able to offer this for all 2,3 and 4 year olds ( soon to include children from 9months )that qualify for the funding as long as all the relevant paperwork is filled in.
My Availability
I am very flexible, I can do shifts, long or short days [minimum of 3hrs] and after schools. I can work late at short notice and want you to feel secure in the knowledge that your child will be safe with me, whenever you need to work.
I am also registered for over night care.
I can work weekends occasionally or in an emergency but on saturday/sunday i charge double fee.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
My hourly fee's start at £6.00 for the hours between 8-6, before and after this my hourly rate is £7.50plus, for shift work my charges are negotiable but are more per hour , this is something that will be written into a contract if you decide I am the right person to care for your children.
I would like to be paid, at the end of each week.
If your child is to have food provided by me, at a cost of £5.00per day, your child will eat wholesome home cooked healthy meals, snacks will consist of a variety of fruit ,yogurts and cheese.
Organic fruit and veg are mainly used from our weekly box from Abel & Cole.
Sweets are very rarely given and if your child is to be sent with a lunch box ,i would be grateful if sweets and crisps can be saved for when the child is home with you.

Jodi is a phenomenal childminder, I trust her more than I trust myself to look after my children. She cared for both my daughter and son from the age of 9-11 months. My son in particular was clingy and didn't want to be with anyone except me - he even cried when I crossed the room. Within a week of being with Jodi, he cried when I turned up to collect him because he wanted to stay with her! She has so much experience with children and she clearly loves each and every one of them, and spends time finding out about them and making sure she meets their needs. She also finds time to give a huge amount of parent feedback about a child's development. She was the first person outside the family to care for my daughter overnight, when my son was being born. I couldn't recommend her highly enough. We have tried lots of childcare since as we have moved to different areas and she has always been the best.
