We love Holly Lodge

Where to start - Holly Lodge is an absolutely amazing nursery. Very peaceful, calm, green, safe location, lovely staff, very kind and nurturing atmosphere. We love how small and cosy it is and that this has allowed our daughter to mix with children of different ages. The curriculum seems very exciting and varied - new topics and activities each week. Lots of outdoor play too - our daughter loves the gardens. We like the mix of learning about writing and numbers etc as well as play, and how our daughter was exposed to this from an early point. Her key staff have always been very kind and our daughter refers to the staff as ‘my friends’. From day one they have been aware of her interests and always make an effort to have one of these ready when she arrives to help with the transition away from us. I’d also really like to highlight how the staff have not only supported our daughter’s development, but have been wonderful to us as a whole family. They were amazing when we went through a difficult experience last year. I’m autistic and they have always been very thoughtful when I attend the end of term parties. When we had a second child, they were beyond brilliant in supporting my daughter and making it a positive transition for her. I think Holly Lodge were integral to her enjoyment at becoming a sister. She is excited to go in each morning and talks about it a lot when away. Caversham is a good option if you need childcare in the holidays, and we appreciate not having to pay year round fees as Holly Lodge is term time only. We really believe it’s a hidden gem and having sone extensive research into nurseries in the area, we are very confident we landed on the best one. Thank you Holly Lodge!

Just a wonderful nursery

I was quite hesitant to start a nursery, my daughter was only 18 months and was with me all day, every day since she was born. The staff here were welcoming, confident and understanding throughout the settling process. I have no family around but this is the closest, I feel, when I am picking her up - as if she spent a day with family. Warm and caring and professional. My daughter loves it and I am very happy with the progress she’s making every day.

Holly Lodge Nursery: highest recommendation

My son has been attending Holly Lodge for several months now, and I am really happy to send him there. It was the first nursery he went to after spending most of his time nearly one-to-one with a childminder, but Liz and everyone else at the nursery made sure he settled in well. They report back on all of the details of his day: naps, food, etc when I pick him up each day.

They have been amazing throughout teething and the transitions from sitting to crawling to walking. I feel confident that he is well cared for and content when he is at the nursery. He kicks with happiness when we reach the gates! I feel very lucky to have the nursery close by, and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a welcoming, kind and pleasant nursery for their child.
