Unreliable

Agree with the previous poster - also let down by this nanny who promised to take a job and then quit before starting under almost exactly the same circumstances. Put us in a very difficult position after turning down other qualified candidates.

Experienced, trustworthy nanny

Karen worked for us as a nanny for 18 months, between May 2014 and December 2016. When she started with us, our daughter was 6 and our son was 3. She found great activities for our son to do whilst his sister was in school and she developed a strong bond with them both. The children had so much fun with her and she was also tremendously thoughtful and caring towards them. It was always very clear to us how much she enjoys looking after children.

I recommend Karen with full confidence. She really is an excellent nanny, and the only reason we ended our arrangement was because our family relocated away from Oxford in December 2016. Had it not been for that, we would have continued indefinitely.

Beyond wonderful as a nanny

Karen was our nanny for over 2 years and the only reason we couldn’t carry on having her care for our children was because they all started school. She has the most loving nature with children and has never let us down. I cannot recommend her enough for anyone looking for an experienced, caring nanny for their family.

Unreliable - Wouldn't Consider Hiring Her Again

Agreed for her to take care of our 1 year old three afternoons a week for the foreseeable future. We left it flexible for her, as she was actively looking for a full time position - and we accepted that she would jump at one if it came up. But we agreed - and she was in fact quite adamant - that she would give us at least a week's notice, and not leave us scrambling for a nanny with no notice (as both of us work full time). So we went ahead and rejected other nannies and - at her request - even paid for a temporary residents parking permit for her.
Then, right before her first day, she did exactly what she said she wouldn't do. She didn't even call, she texted, with some far-fetched excuse about a friend being in a car accident and her having to quit all her paid jobs immediately, so she could look after her friend's children.
We would have had a lot more respect for her if she just told us she had found the full-time position that she had been looking for, and had to start straight away, or if she told us she didn't want the job in the first place. At first glance, she certainly looks like an experienced childcarer, and presents herself well. However, we couldn't help feeling seriously let down, and that she wasn't reliable enough to care for our child.
On the positive side, she informed us that she doesn't smoke, likes animals and seems fine with children.

Fantastic, caring nanny

Karen has been working for us part time for about three years now, starting when my youngest child was 3. She is great with the kids and truly cares about doing her best for them, and they always enjoy being with her. She is reliable, hard-working, and always goes the extra mile, for both the children and us! I have complete confidence in highly recommending her.
