Exclusive video interview with Nancy Stewart - Project Lead Birth to 5 Matters

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS, 2021), the new statutory framework to be used from September 2021, introduces a new way of delivering the learning and development requirements for all early years providers in England.

The educational programmes of the EYFS 2020 have been completely revised and, alongside the new educational programmes, the expectations for adult-guided teaching have been strengthened while documentation requirements have been reduced.

To help providers work with the new statutory requirements of the EYFS 2021, a non-statutory guidance, Birth to 5 Matters, has been published by the Early Years Coalition.

The new Birth to 5 Matters guidance builds on the guidance in Development Matters 2012 and will be an invaluable resource for all early years providers.

Childcare.co.uk are keen for all early years providers to have as much information about the Birth to 5 Matters guidance as possible. For this reason, we approached Nancy Stewart, project lead on the Birth to 5 Matters guidance, for an interview to answer your frequently asked questions.
