Amazing Childminder

I have known Sue for a very long time as she looked after my son who is 11 years old now. He is such a confident, happy and independent boy and she played a big part in his life. We always kept in touch. Sue was one of the first people that I told I was pregnant for the second time. I always knew that I could trust her and rely on her care when I went back to work after my maternity leave. My daughter has been going to Sue for over a year now and she loves it.
Her relationship with Sue and her friends is great. Sue always take them out to different places to explore and discover.
She is very flexible and trustworthy, her communication with me is brilliant and when I need her to do for different hours or dates she always there to help me and other mums.
I never feel anxious or sad leaving my little one with her as I know she will have an amazing time and will be cared perfectly.

Above and Beyond

Sue has looked after two of my children and I honestly wouldn't have made the decision to have my last child if I didn't know she would be cared for by such an amazing person. Having to go back to work full time when my baby was just one was one of the most difficult things I've had to do and l wouldn't have left her with anyone else.
Playdays has been awarded OFSTED outstanding multiple times but this rating does not reflect the level of love, care and stimulation provided to all the children in Sue's care past and present. Sue doesn't just provide educational and developmental stimulation of the highest standard, she provides a family for her children which makes going to work every day that much easier. My daughter has never worried about being left and is one of the luckiest little girls I know.

Outstanding and highly recommended

I have been incredibly blessed to have Sue caring for my daughter for the last 3.5 years and fortunate that she will continue to look after her with after school care as she transitions to school in September.

Having been awarded consecutive ‘Outstanding’ grades by Ofsted, Sue also came highly recommended by a neighbour.

From our very first visit, I knew this was the right setting for my daughter as Sue opened her door and welcomed us in as part of a wider extended family, helping my daughter to feel safe and secure. Seeing her flourish and enjoy the time she spends with Sue made my return to work that bit easier, knowing she was receiving the best possible care and attention.

As my daughter has grown we have worked together to help her achieve her full potential. She has had so many opportunities through Sue that she would not otherwise have had elsewhere. Outings to farms, woodland walks, soft play, trampolining, trips to National Trust sites etc are a daily occurrence with learning and achieving milestones at the centre of each activity. The children thrive in her care, enjoying parties to celebrate different festivals such as Halloween and special events including the upcoming Royal Wedding.

Sue clearly loves her job and adores the children she cares for, regularly going well above and beyond by expectations. I could not more highly recommend her in helping provide the best possible start in life for children.

Wonderful amazing caring and clean

Sue has been my daughter's child minder for over 14 months, they have been to the cinema, on more day trips to beaches farms zoos and forestry areas than I could wish to remember, my daughter absolutely loves spending time with her, and looks forward to the many parties and events that are held, Christmas, Easter, Halloween, if there is a season or event that sue can get the children making decorating and partying for she does, I cannot rate her enough.

Unreliable. Dishonest

Had agreement in place for months for my daughter's childcare alongside another childminder - including holiday cover and joint working. Had offered to pay deposit and sign a contract multiple times but was told not to worry and that there was no need to do so. Was sent emails confirming the space was available. 3 months later I phoned to cry off a face to face settling in meeting due to being ill and was rudely told that was inconvenient and was then told an existing client now wanted my days and hours so services were being withdrawn!! As a single mum with a full time high pressure job this caused me a huge amount of concern and distress not only as it left me trying to find another childminder with limited time, but also because of the manner I was dealt with. I was left feeling that it was somehow my fault that the service had been removed! I appealed to her to reconsider as her agreement with me pre-dated the new request for service, however she declined. I do not think it is honourable or acceptable to renege on an existing agreement simply to give preferential treatment to an existing client wanting to change the terms of their contract. The other parent should have been told the days and hours were already committed, or a conversation should have taken place with me to see whether I was happy to give up those days. It is essential, given the nature of the role, that childminders be reliable, honest and trustworthy and, unfortunately, in this instance that is not the case and I have been left in a frankly unenviable position where I may have to take unpaid time off work if I cannot find a replacement childminder to cover the days and hours. I recommend finding someone more reliable and who provides a contract on request. Hopefully this goes some way to preventing someone else being left in the same situation as I have been.
