About Me
I am 50 years old and have three children who are all over the age of 20, two of whom have their own careers while the youngest is in their final year of university and graduating this year. I am a caring, reliable, honest, and hardworking individual. Please give me a chance as I have a fair bit of life experience, being an older individual. I have lived in the Borders for over 25 years, originally from Birmingham. I love the outdoors and enjoy walking around the Borders when I have the time. I am an excellent cook and enjoy cooking most foods from scratch. I used to teach a cooking class at Borders College before my husband had a stroke. I love children of all ages and enjoy doing fun activities with them to keep them exploring and learning as much as possible. I especially enjoy reading to children and telling amazing stories in different character voices, which I miss since my children have grown up.
My Experience
I have experience working with newborns through to adulthood in a variety of settings, including nurseries, private families, primary schools, colleges, and dementia units. I have also worked as a private carer for a HNW family with a family member who has stage 4 Parkinson's. In my spare time, I am a qualified painter and decorator. I hold a valid first aid certificate from May 2022 and I have recently updated my PVG membership with Tinnies Childcare Agency to find a nanny job. I have a great rapport with both children and parents. Additionally, I have experience working with children with learning difficulties, as I hold a PDA in Classroom Assistant with Children with Additional Needs.
My Qualifications
I have a PDA in childcare from 0 to adulthood.
First Aid May of 2022.
PVG membership.
My Availability
I am available to start immediately and am looking for positions in and around the Edinburgh and Scottish Borders area. Ideally, I am seeking a live-in position, but I am also open to other live-out positions, both short term and long term. Additionally, I am available for work in and around Birmingham, Coventry, Warwickshire, and Nottinghamshire. While I prefer a live-in position, I am open to other options as well. Please note that I am unavailable between 20/07/23 and 07/08/23.
