About Me
Hello! My name is James and I am a Primary School Teacher. I trained in my home country, New Zealand, where I also worked for 3 years before moving to London for 2 years in 2016, working full time in an Outstanding-rated primary school in Waltham Forest.
After a year working and tutoring in Berlin, I have now been back in London for 4 years, working back at another Outstanding-rated school, where I am currently Head of ICT and E-safety, teaching across all year levels from Reception to Year 6.
At this school I have also been Head of Art and DT, and been a class teacher in Years 3, 5 and 6.
Currently I am looking for tutoring work in North London, in person and also available online.
My Experience
I have experience across all primary year levels, with my most recent years in KS2. I also have experience working with a a range of SEN children and private in-home tutoring.
During the COVID pandemic, , I taught my Year Six with live learning sessions. This has given me a wealth of experience with online tutoring and programmes that can be used to make the process a lot easier and manageable.
I have been private tutoring for a range of children for over 7 years, both online and in-home. This includes English language tutoring in Berlin, general Maths and Literacy tutoring for children aged 5-11, catch -up tutoring post-Covid, and general homework help. I have also tutored individually and with groups of children.

My Availability
Currently, I am available as a private tutor online on most weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings.
Additionally, over the term holidays I am much more flexible and can work longer hours throughout the day.
