About Me
Hello, I am Rachael and I work as a childminder in south Lancing, close to the village centre. I have a large, detached house with a secure and child friendly garden.
My setting has public liability insurance and I am registered with OFSTED who carry out regular inspections.
I provide day care for those in the early years and day care for all through the school holidays for those children already at school. My setting is a safe, familiar and fun space for children to explore, learn and make friends.
I am happy to take on any child within my registered numbers and will not discriminate against children or their families for reasons such as race, religion, sex or ability. I have experience in working alongside children who have additional needs and my house is wheelchair friendly.
All children are welcomed into my home and I encourage the other children in my care to support me with this.
My Experience
As a childminder I have worked with children from 3 months to 11 years and really enjoy this age range. The children in my care enjoy a wide range of activities planned around their interests and stages of development. Some are adult led and others are self selected from the wide range of resources available.
My current minded children enjoy having the freedom to choose their activities - from the ever popular car garage and emergency vehicle set to drawing to setting up garden obstacle courses, sensory play, mark making, nature exploring, trips to the park and giant, house long, marble run building alongside many others.
I have an excellent relationship with the local pre school built up over a 10 year period and know the staff well, working successfully in partnership with them.
My Qualifications
I came to childminding from a teaching background, having five years experience in both Nursery and School settings and a degree in Early Years Education. I have been minding now for 15 years. I have two children of my own, 18 year old twins. I hold a current, level three qualification in paediatric first aid and have a current DBS check. I have a level 3 qualification in home based childcare and excelled at my most recent OFSTED inspection.

My Fees
- Childminding from £6.00 per hour
I charge £5 an hour. This includes meals, snacks, wipes and covers the cost of all activities.
There is no charge if I am unavailable to work and I'm always happy to try to accommodate day swaps and ad hoc bookings where possible.
