About Me

Hi, I have been married for 28 years to my husband Pat we have one child a son called Jacques who is 14 we have a very small dog and a cat.
I trained as a Nanny some years ago but changed career path due to personal reasons but came back to childcare two years ago.
I worked for two years as a Childminders assistant and have looked after various pre-school children during this time along with the odd school aged sibling.
I enjoy working with children and assisting with their development using a range of activities, I enjoy watching & teaching children to be creative with different materials i.e. Pens & Paints to assist with hand and eye co-ordination skills, making models using glue etc to bring out their creative abilities, I personally enjoy baking so enjoy passing this skill onto the children as children love to be creative and see what they have achieved.
I like reading to the children as well as listening to them read, in my spare time I also like reading.
My spare time is spent (when there is some!) walking the dog, baking/cooking/entertaining for friends and family, knitting, reading, gardening and spending quality time with my husband and son.
Excellent references are available upon request from parents who use my services.

My Experience

I Nannied for three families before I changed career path, my first family was a boy (3) & a girl (9months) my contracted ended when this family moved abroad. Second family were twin boys (3 1/2) and a girl (2) this family were preparing for the loss of the father and it was a very emotional time for them and I was required during a very stressful time in their lives. My third family consisted of a Nanny share after the second family lost the father and were preparing to move away, family 3 were two boys (3 & 4 1/2)
I changed my career and worked for an accountancy firm for 21 years during which I had my long awaited son.
In 2011 I went back to childcare as a childminding assistant doing all the same tasks as the childminder and then organising the daily creative activities, also doing afternoon school runs in the Croxley Green area, during which time I built a wonderful relationship with many of the children and their parents.
In October 2013 I left the Childminding setting so that I could work as a Nanny and be more flexible with daily activities, taking the children to Toddler & music groups in the local area, visits to the Local Library etc

My Qualifications

GCSE's
English
Maths
Geography
Home economics

In the childcare field I have done my paediatric first aid, safeguarding and have been CRB checked and also have the new DBS check. I like to attend as many course which are relevant to this professional so am constantly updating my portfolio for piece of mind of you the parents and the benefit of your children when they are in my care.

I am studying for my qualification as a childminder but would prefer to continue to work as a Nanny for the foreseeable future. I am registered with Ofsted on the voluntary nanny register which will allow you to use childcare vouchers and in the past was registered with Ofsted as a childminders assistant.

Please note that I am a Nanny and I am only doing the Childminding course because I want to and not to change from a Nanny role to a Childminding role.

I want to build a good relationship with the child/children of the family/families I work for as the whole family are important to me, "Happy children make happy parents make happy children......! "

Excellent references are available upon request.

Never thought we would end up writing this, however you (like us) are looking for reliable upfront honest childcare and will not find it here. You will be told many things that impress you and your trust will be gained. This will make you drop your guard. Details will be left out and when questions are asked regarding your child's whereabouts or the existance of the promised daily diary, you will be met with hostility and defensive behaviour. More babysitting will be offered and then you will find yourself let down (wont say no I cant do it, will just not turn up) to appear late the next day with no real apology. We very nicely asked to speak about it on several occasions but was met with "if you are not happy I will understand if you want to use a different childcare provider" and then finally some rather rude voicemails. My husband requested a meet up to discuss things on neutral ground but was told she had spent the day writing her resignation and would let us know the following day whether or not she would be actioning this. We never heard from her until the following morning 2 hours before she was due to have our son when she emailed it over! We responded by text message (to avoid conflict) and took up her offer to terminate immediately, requesting our keys and sons belongings back. These never appeared although her and her husband turned up at our house unannounced. My husband went to collect it and the keys were not available but would be posted back through our door. They werent. He approached them again to which her husband was aggressive and threatened our family over the text message we sent saying we'd better not send any more or else (have all these things documented as we took the matter to the police. All of this was infront of their teenage son. To top it all off I have now been sent an email which questions me as a mother.
